Dear loyal customers,
As some of you have learned recently I am selling my house. It is with much regret that I inform you all that I will no longer be staying in the state of Minnesota. This decision was difficult to make however it is necessary to move forward into the next season of my life. Online booking has been disabled as Diamond in the Ruff grooming will be closing permanently on Oct 31. I am aware that many of you have appointments scheduled past this date and regrettably I will not be able to fulfill this commitment. For this I apologize.
My recommendations for other grooming salons in the area are Premier Pet Spa in Plymouth, Mavericks Pet Grooming in Hopkins.
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with all of you and your dogs. It is because of you that I was able to become a successful small business owner. I cannot thank you enough. I will miss you all greatly.

God Bless
Cassie Lutz

Business is booming and I couldn’t be more grateful!! I’m currently booking between 4-6 weeks out. To make sure you have a spot on the schedule I recommend making multiple appointments at once. Keeping on a regular schedule benefits you, me, and your dogs. Thanks everyone! I love making your pups look and feel amazing! 🐾

**Did you know**
That to get the full benefit of a whitening shampoo it gets applied to a dry dog?? That’s because wetting a dog first opens the pores of the hair allowing the dirt to sink deeper in. If you apply the shampoo directly to dry hair, you’re able to wash away all the dirt leaving the coat bright and white!

I love educating my clients about the best products for their dogs. Unfortunately right now, due to the pandemic I have a lot less time to spend with the customers to talk to them about their pets needs. So I will be sharing different grooming tips for everyone to use at home!
If you have any further questions drop them in the comments and I will either answer right away or I will make another post about it!

This post is about brushes. What brush is best to use for your dog. And that all depends on what your goal is and what type of hair your dog has.
•Slicker brushes: are great at getting out tangles or mats. They are best suited for dogs with thick coats (ie doodles, cockapoos, cocker spaniels, poodles)
Use the brush with the least amount of firmness that is still able to get the job done. !! BE AWARE that just because you are able to brush out mats does not mean the hair is good to go. Many times doing so will result in hair breakage and split ends making hair more susceptible to matting again and giving a dull appearance.
•Pin brushes: great for daily maintenance! Gentle on hair and skin. Best suited for dogs with thin hair(Maltese, yorkie, cavaliers), when you are looking to grow the hair longer or train your puppy to learn to be brushed. !! BE AWARE that pin brushes work best with hair that is regularly maintained. If not used properly it can lead to “top brushing” which detangles hair on the surface but not at the base of the hair resulting in painful matting and the dreaded shave down. To ensure that this isn’t happening follow your brushing with a comb to locate tangles and brush them out. (Do not rip tangles out with a comb. Combs are simply used to ensure you did a good job brushing)

I hope this helps everyone! Have a good weekend!
