What is a Savannah Cat?

The Savannah is a breed of hybrid cat developed from crossing an African Serval (Leptailurus serval) with a domestic cat (Felis catus) or another Savannah Cat. This hybridization produces large and lean offspring, with the Serval's beautiful characteristics. Savannah Cats have very large ears with the white markings on the back called 'Ocelli', also known as night eyes. The Savannah cats carry down the African Servals brown & Black spotted coats with the beautiful warm gold undercoat. Savannah Cats have a beautiful base coat that ranges from Golden Yellow to Warm Orange complimented with solid dark brown to black spots on top. F1 and F2 Savannahs can be very large, most of Lush Savannahs F1 Savannah Cats range from 13 - 20 pounds. Savannah cats will appear to be much heavier than they actually are due to their Tall Lanky Body Structure that is passed down from the African Serval.
