LOUISIANA DOGS' FIRST SNOW Billy Bob, Hoosier & Lugosi couldn't get enough 🥰

AIN'T NO WINTER STORM GONNA STOP US! As most of you saw on the news, Louisana (and the entire Southern region) got hit with a unicorn of a blizzard! I measured almost a foot of snow in the swamp where I live. But the narrow and winding roads became so icy that it made driving to take care of the dogs too dangerous, and let's face it...Louisiana doesn't have snow plows on stand-by. So it was big brother Kananai aka my son, to the rescue, and he cleared the road with his tractor so that Mariah (M1 aka my daughter) could get to work safely. The family that rescues together...plows snow together 🤣

KICKED AND GANGED UP ON BY A GROUP OF KIDS That's the call we got from one of our local gas stations in New Orleans. When VRC employees arrived, there were a group of teenagers kicking this teeny, tiny little girl. Despite the abuse inflicted by these kids, she still tried to walk up to them, seeking kindness and a helping hand. But the cruelty and taunting continued as they then began chasing and throwing bottles at her. Imagine her relief when she saw our people reaching out to her and scooping her up in their arms. And just like that she was safe with us. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF... VRC employee hero of the day; Jenna! She spotted this little hound dog on the interstate tonight. Thankfully, she had a collar with a name tag, so we were able to reunite with the owner within minutes :)

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF... From the swamps of Louisiana to the woods of East Texas, to the mountain tops and hollers of West Virginia, this is where you will find Villalobos Rescue Center. Our West Virginia location is small and closed to the public. We house a small group of dogs here while we assess them for our prison dog training program at Rockview Prison in PA. Thankfully our kennels here are indoor/outdoor and are heated. But Kodiak the Tibetan Mastiff says "This is my favorite time of the year!" This big Grizzly Bear of a dog came in as a rescue and was adopted out by Orlando, who oversees this location. Looks like someone is going to have a white Christmas!
