Dear The Louisiana SPCA,

We have called you EIGHT TIMES about these loose pups. My employee has even rounded them up SEVERAL times, taken them back to their home, and tried to educate the owners about fixing their fence.

This morning, the result of NO ONE doing anything was found dead on Poland Ave. But no worries, we cleaned up everyone else's "mess" again. My employee couldn't bear to leave the dead pup on the street, so he picked her up, brought her home, and laid her under a blanket (circled in red) so the owners could "re-claim" their dog.

Rest in Paradise "France" (named after the street she lived on. Humans failed you.

Another happy tail! Vampirella is living up to her name this spooky season! Her adopter sent us an adorable update and we are so happy for this sweet girl! She frequents the beach and even went to a professional soccer game!

URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE HOME NEEDED

This sweet girl was found on a rural highway with a broken leg. She is going into surgery after some wonderful people came together to raise the donations. But after surgery, she has nowhere to go.

As you all know Blueticks are my soft spot but I have a house filled with them and we are also in the middle of closing down our New Orleans location and scrambling to fit those dogs at our other location.

And before you suggest it, please do not say Misfit Hounds Brad is also drowning in dogs. And truth be told, this girl needs an actual home to recover in.

SQUASHING THE RUMORS

This is our FORMER location on N. Claiborne Ave in New Orleans. We have been out of it for around 2 years.

It has been brought to my attention that a rumor has been spread that we abandoned a group of dogs here because "barking can be heard inside the building." If this is true, then more than likely it is some street people living inside with their dogs. New Orleans has a HUGE streetlife community that travel with their dogs.

That all being said, in about a month we will be completely moved out of New Orleans and the only dog rescue location that we will have will be in Assumption Parish, Louisiana and of course, our wolfdog sanctuary in Texas.

I hope this clears up any confusion and stops those horrible rumors. And yes...we are sad to see the location we once called "home" sitting like this. But with donations at an all-time low and intake at an all-time high, we needed to consolidate.

ATKINS - the newest member to our sponsorship program.

His story has so many twists and turns that I had to put it in a video on his profile page. And if I have to be honest...I downplayed it because going back to all the details puts me back into such an angry place.

The short version is that Atkins had been with us for years. He finally got a home last year only to have his adopters put us through hell to get him back into our care after they decided to abandon him over their divorce.

The majority of our "swamp dogs" come from outdoor situations. They've never seen the inside of a house.

This morning Mariah Harmony shows Ricky Lucy what it means to be inside of a home. As we work through some of her other behavioral issues, we hope to have her ready for a new home soon :)
