Honeybee is available for adoption through SAM - Save A Mom Pregnant Dog Rescue! ❤

She spent a couple days with us to receive her final round of heartworm treatment. It was a little rough on her, but she's on her way to being healthy! Honeybee was such a sweet girl during her stay and didn't make a peep. She has an old injury to her front leg that did not heal properly, but it doesn't slow her down from doing all her Beagle duties! She is dog and cat friendly. This sweet girl will make someone a great companion! If you are interested in more information on Honeybee, contact the office or Save A Mom Rescue!

Is your pet starting to get itchy? Allergies can be in Spring or Fall, but many pets have allergies year-round. A bath may temporarily relieve symptoms, but most pets will need medications to stop the itch and resolve infection. As long as the skin or ears are infected, your pet will be itchy! If your pet begins scratching, chewing, or shaking their head, give us a call!

July is National Pet Hydration Awareness Month.

Our pets can get dehydrated quicker during warmer weather. Always provide your pet with access to fresh water! Signs of dehydration include tacky gums, lethargy, loss of appetite, and decreased skin elasticity. To test your pet's hydration, perform a skin test. Grab a fold of skin, pull it up, and release. If your pet is hydrated, the skin will snap back into place immediately.

Afraid to trim your pet's black nails at home? Follow the tips below. Trim small amounts off at a time. Once you see black at the center of the nail, you know to stop. Styptic powder and sticks work best to stop bleeding if you cut the quick, but packing the nail with corn starch can be used if you're in a pinch.
