Loping into Friday like… 🤩 Throwback to our weekend at WEC and Luke looking good as always
Luke
Haven’t shared some of Luke in awhile, but he’s been working hard at staying awesome 🤩
Jack
Jacks first day of saddle breaking camp
Rosie is getting back into the swing of things after having years off just sitting in the pasture. Back to work Ms. Rosie! She just finished her 60 days here - 30-40 days of ground work and the rest under saddle.

He has come so far in the time that he’s been in training with me. It only gets better from here. One minor gate issue in this pattern but overall it was smooth, relaxed and he was tuned in nicely.
Rosie
Who remembers Rosie’s temper tantrum on the patience tree the other week??? Well this is the outcome of standing tied to it everyday till she stands quietly. We finally have a quiet horse! Patience is a virtue
One of the biggest problems I see when working with people and their horses is that the majority of people have been trained to always look for the bad things their horses do. Because they’re always looking for the bad, they easily overlook the little tries and sometimes have trouble seeing the good in their horse. Reward the small accomplishments 👏🏻
Temper tantrums on the patience tree are popular here 🫣
Also, meet Rosie!
It’s really amazing what a horse will do for you if he understands what you want. And it’s also quite amazing what he’ll do to you if he doesn’t
Now that Clifford has settled and we’ve gotten to know each other a little, I’ve decided to start working on his feet issue. He has all fours shod, but we have no clue how. He won’t let you touch his legs to get his feet up, he strikes out or refuses to and plants those big feet of his. I tried working on doing this by hand but taking a hoof to the skull is not on my bucket list so I decided to rope his front legs today. This helped by staying out of his strike zone and get him use to something touching his leg to lift his foot. He has to learn to give to this pressure and relax his leg before he gets a release. You can actually see in the video where he gets that, he got a good release from me and a pat for it 😉 it took quite some time to get to this and it wasn’t easy, soft, kindhearted. He was jerking me like a rag doll and he knows it. Our job is to show these young colts (and fillies 💕) the right decisions to make and give them the opportunity to do so and learn from mistakes.
It’s always a great day for a trail ride ☀️ Kismets first day out and she exceeded expectations! Such a good girl.

Penny girl 🧡 she is still available!
Denali
Denali’s last week here after her 120 days with me. We are doing something that we have been working on a lot lately - working off a loose rein without gaining or losing speed and maintaining her own balance while staying in a circle. She wants the rider to aid her every step but she will never grow up mentally if we hold her hand the whole way. I only correct when I need to and then leave her be. When she goes too fast, I redirect her into a small circle which slows her pace down and gets her to refocus.
