Brody, Darby, and Maverick have had a lot of outside time with Mama this morning. They had a break between sessions and all cuddled up into one small crate 😂 They also had some alone time in crates with bones. Tiring them out has allowed me to be productive and start to get my living room back in order. Love these babies! 🐾❤️

Families, the schedule we have been on is as follows:

6am breakfast (1cup of kibble)
Potty 6:15-6:45
Play time
Napping by 8:30ish
12pm lunch (They will let you know when it’s 12:01pm 😂 We feed 3/4cup at lunch)
Potty 12:15-12:45
Playtime
Napping by 2/2:30
Potty 4-4:45
Playtime usually 4-6pm(ish)
Dinner anywhere between 6-7pm (1cup of kibble)
Potty within 5-10 mins of eating for half hour or so
Playtime
Bedtime 9-9:30

Being that we had a litter pan for them to use in the pen, we didn’t take them out to potty every 20-30 mins. Golden’s are so smart and catch on so quick, so the more proactive you are, the faster they’ll be house trained.

Bones and treats are given in-between meals and are awesome training tools! Treats for outside potty, sitting, training to do tricks… bones for training with crating, energy exertion, etc.

Crating… it helps to move the crate to your bed or couch so that you can sit or lay comfortably next to them until they settle down. They will more than likely make noise and some are louder than others. Comforting them by putting your fingers through the crate or giving them a bone to tire out with, will help… I just don’t recommend you leave the bone in with them as they could break small pieces off and choke. 🐾❤️

Last day together as a group of 10 so we had a pool pawty. 💦 We will miss these sweet babies so much! Their collars are a never ending battle so we have stopped trying. Even though we can tell them apart pretty well at this point, each puppy has a sharpie tattoo on their tummy. 🐾❤️

Getting together the puppies’ home packets and I feel like I’m packing my kids up for college lol It is so bittersweet. We are excited for them and their families but will miss having them with us. ❤️🐾

Full exams, shots and microchipped. The only time they cried was for more wet food after all of the poking was over. Of course, the dr and staff all fell in love and asked to take photos. 🐾❤️

Can’t say enough how proud I am of these sweet babies. ❤️ 10 8-week-old puppies at the vet for the first time and they’re relaxed enough to fall asleep?! Insane!

You may notice, some have broken their collars… I sharpied initials on their tummies when this started to become a problem lol Their blankets are in with them (Dolly’s blanket is white/multicolored).

Sorry I haven’t posted much lately. Kids have been out of school due to Hurricane Ian, we had our son’s bday party, friends over a couple of times, nephew was here all weekend, etc. We have been so busy but have definitely been enjoying the puppies - sometimes it has seemed like they’ve “had enough” lol

I am stomaching this Bucs game tonight and working on crating while enjoying some one on one time with them. This sweet girl left my arms and walked in and laid down on her own. ❤️ Door is wide open but she is choosing the crate (over me lol).

Vet appt tomorrow and countdown to pick ups. We will sure miss them.

Thank you for all of the texts and messages concerning our safety with the storm. We were projected to be a direct hit until Tuesday evening when Ian turned south. Being native Floridians, we planned on staying home… I mean, where can you go with 13 dogs?! 😂

We are so grateful to not be facing what some of our neighboring counties are enduring this morning. 🙏🏼💔

Here are some pics of bedtime last night. Our son has been begging to have a “slumber pawty” with the puppies since they were first born. I swear, they’re under the impression he’s the 11th in the litter. He didn’t make it all night, but was trying to fall asleep in the crate (VOLUNTARILY 🤣) before I went to bed. Loving our time with them and realizing it’s coming closer to the end. ❤️

The first video I recorded and you couldn’t really see the puppies, so I enlisted my daughter’s help for the second one. Their first time having bacon. 🥓 🐾❤️ The way they run over and sit when they hear that clicker is so cute. ❤️❤️❤️

We did some hurricane prep and had some play time on the porch after lunch… then they all got baths. After the other day, we have been nervous to bring them out back where they could get into the plants. They seem to be perfectly happy with porch/pool time. 🐾❤️💦🛁

Last night we had a scare. Some of the pups had some diarrhea after being outside yesterday. We found a plant that was chewed up in one of our flower beds… I’m guessing this was the culprit. One puppy in particular, seemed to have no interest in food and wasn’t acting like her normal self. I gave them some pumpkin and puppy formula (probiotics) to help their tummies, called the vet and reached out to the family to inform them of what was going on. After speaking with the vet, we decided to keep a close eye on her through the night and see if she was better in the morning. She had some snuggle time with mama in our bed and football with my husband. She slept ALL night in a crate beside me. When she woke up this morning, she never whimpered to come out, we could only hear her little tail wagging. ❤️ She is doing great this morning (they all are) and is back to rough housing and scarfing down food. Phew!

It was fun for me to share the back porch/pool craziness with my family today. Our son had a blast swimming with puppies in the pool. Your kiddos had a blast also! 💦🐾

It’s confirmed… my daughter is a much better photographer than I am! They had some outside time with my kids while I cleaned the pen. Afterward, they had an early dinner as pairs in crates. Individual crating isn’t something they enjoy and trying not to rush it. They’re still babies and need to feel secure most of all! 🐾❤️

Some of these pictures are so cute! As you may notice, two of them have no collars on. Don’t worry! These are breakaway collars and it happens daily. We have gotten to really know them each well.

New exposure. 1st car ride! This am Brax and Oakley got to ride along to drop the kids at school. The pups were not fond of the experience at first (first car rides are scary!) & whimpered for awhile, but settled themselves & were even comfortable enough to lie down right before we got home. We will be taking them in pairs for short trips over the next week just to acclimate them before our big vet visit on 10/3. Mama does NOT need 10 panicky, screeching dogs & this exposure in small doses should help with your drive home & in the future. ❤️🐾 Super proud of these guys! PS… the kids were in heaven!

They had an earlier than usual dinner so we did another late night snack to hold them through the morning. They crack me up with how some of them will jump up in front of the camera like middle schoolers.

When you only count 9 puppies…

I asked my husband to video the tail end of us working on manners. They were all treated many times and did great! They get so excited over food, so they do fall over each other (apparently, so does Auntie 🤣) but they’re learning to sit and ask nicely. ❤️🐾 6 weeks, 1 day

It finally dried up enough to bring them outside today. They had a blast! 🐾

Play yard is complete thanks to my husband! - They love it - It will keep me from having to clean their toys from being dragged over to the litter area. 🤢 - Mama can’t confiscate them anymore 😂
