I know I haven’t posted in some time…I’m taking a hiatus from breeding, showing, etc. till I can figure out my life. Losing Red, Treasure, Miracle, Shiner, Benjamin, and now Chauncey has been more difficult than I could’ve imagined. That being said, that’s not what this post is about.

This post is about hope for a better time that should be coming my way (in the next year or two) and about the inspiration the people that own my foals that I’ve bred, pass on to me. Chauncey was MY first horse to earn his legion of merit. And now, there is the first foal that I’ve bred to receive his legion of merit and I could be happier! Amanda Gibson, you inspire me! The work you’ve put into Duke is amazing and the two of you deserve the best! I’m so SO proud of you!! What a talented pair!! Maybe one day Jerry and I will be able to join your ranks!

So guys…I’m working on something that’s just for me, but I need your help.

Since losing Shiner (and indirectly Chauncey and Ace), I need to make a photo album of all of my kids and their owners. If you have a few favorite photos of a horse that I bred or a horse by Shiner alongside yourself as their owner, please send them to me either via PM or post them here. Please remind me their registered names if you’re not someone I speak with regularly.

Again, this is just something for me myself.

I’m posting a pic of myself with Jerry aka TCR Sumbody Dunit bc this is the photo I’d use of us in the album.

My entire breeding program centered around the main man in my life, Shiner. He was everything. There’ll never be another quarter horse sire that’ll take his place and how he crossed with Arabian mares. From conformation, to disposition, to charisma, to trainability, to athleticism and diversity in that athleticism, to exquisite color always marked with dappling, he was THE MAN! To all of my extended family with Shiner kids, please give them all an extra squeeze from me tonight and let them know that their daddy was so well loved by everyone that met or working with him and that they, by extension, are loved by me. There is a huge wound on my heart tonight that will surely leave a scar for a lifetime.

Ya gotta love it when friends and clients send you video of their Shiner kiddos and how they’re doing! You all will remember Citrine. She’s 2 now and her mom Presley has been taking her out in the desert and even sitting on her ba****ck and taking a few steps around the property. She sent me this video saying “Nothing bothers this horse”! I died laughing watching the whole thing! Yeppers….them Ayrabs sure are a spooky bunch of critters!!! 😳🤣🤣🤣

Included in the price either way is all of his handling. He will lead, be clipped with noisy clippers, pick up his feet and stand for the farrier, know the basics of lunging (to go around you in either direction), rotate 360 degrees on his forehand and haunches with the touch of a finger, load in a wash rack, have a bath, load in a trailer, pony with another horse (probably mom), and if I have time, he will have gone to the lake to go swimming. He’ll be exposed to projects where I’m using noisy tools, cars on the road, ATVs in the desert on the trail, etc. I do A LOT with my babies and it SHOWS! 😘
