On this final day of Pride Month 🦄, we’re thrilled to introduce three fabulous new arrivals—recently rescued and now proudly bearing the names Elton John, Freddie Mercury, and David Bowie.

Elton & Freddie are from a litter of four in a church parking lot where, tragically, one kitten and their mom did not survive. Rescue efforts are still ongoing for the remaining kitten and we are not giving up anytime soon.

Bowie, the bold little tabby, was rescued from beneath a bus by officers from the 109th Precinct—and soon after, he joined Elton and Freddie to form the ultimate kitten supergroup.

All that’s missing now is little Liza Minelli - the dilute tortie sister to Elton and Freddie who we hope to find as rescue efforts continue with our friend

We have a LOT of kittens that need forever homes so please tell your friends and neighbors and colleagues that if they’ve been thinking of adopting a pair of kittens - now is the time ! apply to adopt!

Link to our adoption application is in linktree in bio.

Two tiny arrivals, late last night. Sadly their mom was found nearby and was already gone - likely struck by a car. We are still looking for her other two kittens, and are working with local feeders to TNR (trap, neuter, return) the rest of the adults in this colony to prevent more kittens from being born on the streets, where every day is a struggle to survive.

Please support your local TNR efforts and ask your local representatives to advocate for free and low-cost spay / neuter services in NYC so we can stop this cycle of suffering before it starts.

‼️URGENT‼️ Two cats were dumped this afternoon near Cooper Park at Debevoise & Jackson Street. (Witnesses saw the owner abandon them and walk away.) A maintenance worker was able to secure one (pictured). THE OTHER CAT RAN OFF AND IS MISSING. The cat that ran is dark grey and likely terrified and hiding nearby. PLEASE if you are in the area - be on the lookout. If there are volunteers who want to brave the heat and look for the cat - check under cars, in doorways, stairwells etc. Scared cats usually don’t run far. They hunker down because they’re frozen with fear 🥺

In the meantime, the first cat is safe with our friends and will be seeing a vet later today.

Some highlights from today’s adoption event! A big thank you to all the fosters and volunteers who helped make today happen ❤️
Arlo, Miche, Mustard, Relish, Dennis, Dibs, Astrid, Dolores and many others are still waiting for their forever homes! (Arlo, we learned today, loves to be cradled like a baby - see video for proof 🥹)

Check out our Petfinder or if email us for more info on any of the cats and kittens available for adoption (many aren’t on Petfinder yet)!

The sooner we can get some cats and kittens into forever homes, the sooner we can open intake to new ones. 🙏

Come meet Arlo & Miche and many more cats and kittens at our ADOPTION EVENT this SUNDAY 6/22 from 12-3 at in Greenpoint!

These 4-month old buddies can be adopted together or separately to a home with another young cat or kitten (though we’d love to see them adopted together!)

As you can see - they are adorable and perfect (even with Arlo’s perfectly imperfect eye)!

To apply to adopt in advance of the event : go to our linktree to find adoption application or our website greenpointcats.org/adopt

See you Sunday!

Remember OMG—the cat we rescued after he was left alone for months in a dry cleaner, surviving on food pushed through a hole in the door? Well, his life looks very different now. He’s safe, well-fed, and settling into the good life in a foster home!

OMG (full name: Oh Em Gee) is as loving as he is playful as he is cute and friendly. It’s as if he’s living each day to make up for the bad ones that are behind him, and we can’t blame him ❤️

Next stop: a forever home!

“Tony” was last seen on Friday, June 13th, when he busted through a window screen on India street between Franklin & Manhattan. He is a black neutered male with a clipped left ear. He is shy and will run if approached. Owner says he might be enticed with a feather on stick toy. If spotted - do not chase. Take pics / videos and DM .beardsman or email drdoe3@gmail
