An update on Manny, our Giving Tuesday rescue:

Left in a taped up cardboard box at a construction site in Greenpoint, this adolescent kitten is one of the lucky ones to be rescued and in a temporary home tonight.

He is perfectly imperfect, with a broken tail and unbroken spirit 💕 Thankfully the crooked tail doesn’t seem to bother him and he’s able to use the litter box just fine.

It’s been a busy Giving Tuesday with an early morning trip to ASPCA spay / neuter clinic and then this: a kitten left in a taped up cardboard box at a local construction site. Thankfully these kind neighbors scooped him up and reached out because the alternative is too sad to imagine.

He’s with for the day while we search for a foster home.

On Black Friday we made an emergency visit to with “Bay Crane Wayne” - a young black cat from a colony in Greenpoint that we trapped earlier in the week as part of an ongoing effort to stabilize the colony through TNR (trap, neuter, return). Turns out Wayne is not feral and also doesn’t respond to the name “Wayne,” no matter how times you repeat his name while he uses the exam room as a jungle gym.

Once in the arms of the doctor, he was all purrs and love and he is medically fine aside from some stress-induced urinary and appetite issues.

We put Wayne in a crate with his sister, Bay Crane Lil Wayne, to help alleviate his stress and to assess her potential for indoor life. Both are under a year old.

And that’s a wrap on “Black” Friday. 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

Stay tuned for updates on these two and if you’re looking to adopt a black kitten or cat : we also have Calyer (male, 8 months) Diamond (female, 8 months) and Milton (male, 3 months) from the same colony and all need homes. WE NEED ADOPTERS! 🙏🐈‍⬛

Rescuing a rooster 🐓was not on the holiday agenda and definitely not our area of expertise but sometimes you just gotta show up and do the right thing and figure it out - and hope that your friends and fans and followers will have your back !

With just a week away, please consider making a donation to our lifesaving work that literally happens at all hours of the day and night- like this past weekend’s 3AM rescue of a terrified kitten. The time stamp on this video doesn’t include the five hours of waiting, baiting, hoping and using every trapping trick possible while the kitten darted under cars and through traffic.

Finally, at 3:15am, hunger overcame fear and our hungry little kitten decided to risk her life for a snack and walked into a trap - and that, is how “Amy Rose” was rescued.

This work is often 24/7 and we need your support more than ever to keep going. Thank you!

‼️James - one of our special cats with special needs- is in need of a new foster or forever home!

About six weeks ago, we asked for your help when James suffered a series of seizures and needed to be hospitalized. Thanks to your donations and support, we were able to get him the very best care and he is now on daily meds for epilepsy.

Unfortunately he is losing his foster home - and his best dog friend ! - next week.

He is a gentle and loving cat who adapts well to new places and people (and pets).

He is easy to medicate and will bring so much joy and love to your home 💕

Thank you for all the donations toward baby Babylon’s recovery! Tomorrow he goes for an initial consult with where we expect to make a surgery plan.

If you want to see what a kitten with a broken jaw looks like - swipe for the video where we first noticed that something was definitely … not right 😿

According to the radiologist report via : both lower parts (left and right) of his jaw are fractured with a “subluxation” of the joint of the jaw towards the back by the skull called the temporomandibular joint. Additionally, there is a fracture of the frontal bone of the skull …pretty much in the middle towards the right side.

While this is a very unlucky injury, Babylon is one lucky kitten to have survived his journey under a car from [Babylon] Long Island to Brooklyn!

Updates to follow, including an official prognosis and surgery estimate.

🚨FUNDRAISER ALERT 🚨

This tiny kitten traveled in the underside of a vehicle from Babylon, Long Island to Williamsburg, Brooklyn and miraculously survived the trip.

Like a lot of cats and kittens this time of year, “Babylon” was seeking a warm and safe place to hide and the underside of a parked car offered that warmth and (the illusion of) safety.

Babylon survived, but he has a broken jaw that will need to be surgically repaired in order for him to live the pain-free life he deserves. It’s hard to imagine the pain and terror he’s already experienced. If you can, please help by sharing this post and donating! Rose likes to sit THISCLOSE to the TV when watching her favorite big-eyed birds and sea creatures 👀. After being rescued from the park where they were abandoned in a box, Rose and Axl had life-changing cryotherapy to correct their genetically deformed eyelids and now are enjoying life as normal kittens !

They are nonstop joy and would make a wonderful addition to your home and family 💕Please help us find them a forever home by sharing and commenting !

Update on our grump-faced kitten, Silver! Featuring exclusive footage from his foster

- He is committed to looking grumpy. Whatever he is feeling inside, he will only show grump face.

- He did not pass “the dangle test” but we actually aren’t sure what that is

- He accepts love but will not ask for it … yet.

Walrus & Tippi look concerned that we didn’t feature them for SPOOKY month 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ 🎃 so we want to make sure they get the spooky spotlight on Halloween Eve!

This *brother and sister pair are from the Beadel Street kittens we rescued over the summer and they need a forever home!

*same mom, different litters. Walrus is about 5 months old and Tippi close to 8 months!

Walrus is a loverboy and Tippi is your best friend once you remind her that you hold the treats! 😹 Together, they are purrfect.

TWO DAYS UNTIL GIVING TUESDAY! It’s Sunday night and I’m trying to get out the door to go feed a local cat colony and tend to a different cat in our tiny holding space when I get a call from a neighbor about a cat trying to get in her back door. More conversations with neighbors reveal the full story: the cat was given to a landlord on the block who put it in his abandoned building and another neighbor took pity on the cat and started feeding it. The cat must have still been hungry because it went right into the trap. Next we need to get her to the vet, find a foster home and of course find an adopter. This is on top of managing the 50+ other cats in our care. 🚨With Giving Tuesday a few days away, please consider donating to help us continue helping the community and helping cats. AND - there will be a DONOR MATCH on Tuesday which means that for every dollar you give, we will get two! 🚨 We need your support and we hope we count on it this Tuesday and beyond! Thank you!
