I bought Nekoichi’s pet tent via Amazon in the US! It’s a Japanese cat product brand , and is foldable and light.I bought it for my grooming business. But Luffy (my cat) took it over. She won’t let go.

My cat grooming column vol. 3 in the YomiTIme. Brief translation:
Nail Cap, better option than declawing. BTW, declawing is illegal in NYS.
You’ve seen these colorful nail "thing" on pet catalogue or online pet store, and provably thought "over the top fashion item for cats. No way." I used to think the same way. Honestly, I still think regular nail trim is enough for most of the household, but these nail caps are not for fashion at all. They are good option for families with small children, for example. Just to be extra cautious to avoid any injury from cat’s nails. It’s definitely soooo much better than declawing. They are safe for cats, too.

Luffy’s belly shave: before & after. Nov. last year, I passed the 4 written exams of the NCGIA’s cat grooming course. Come to think of it, I became a cat only groomer basically for Luffy. No more hairballs, no more shedding.

It's in Japanese, so here is a brief translation:
Just a nail trim, but still a nail trim...for or cats. Ever since I started cat grooming service this summer, I get quite a few requests for "only nail trim".
Cat's nails should be trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks. If you leave their nails to keep growing, it could turn into "ingrown nails", condition that the over grown nail piercing into a paw. It's painful for cats and could lead to infection. So let's trim their nails. If you can’t do it yourself, you can take your cats to your vet just for the nail trim, or look for a cat groomer like myself.
I do house calls in Queens and Manhattan. For people who live elsewhere, I welcome everyone at my home salon in Queens. Please contact me for details by email.

I went to Groom Expo at Hershey, PA, from 9/13 to 15th. I attended a seminar by Danelle German, founder of NCGIA, the cat exclusive grooming school I go to. This photo was taken by Justine, my instructor. I’m siting among other participants. But don’t look for me. I look like my father! It was nice to finally meet Danelle. It’s been a year since I started studying cat grooming.

This is done by Justine, my cat grooming instructor. It’s her salon cat, Jazzy, a short hair black smoke cat (very rare). Jazzy was vomiting hairballs. So Justine gave her a lion cut with some creative edge. For those who think “why lion cut?”, it is not a fashion. Lion cut is the solution for hairball or excessive matting/pelting. Jazzy has no more hairball. I’m learning from Justine to become a certified feline master groomer by NCGIA, the school I go to. I’m more than half way to get that title. Wish me luck. But to be able to do a cut like this, it takes experience and practice.

This is Justine, my instructor for cat grooming, and her beloved poodle, Frankie. Justine is a certified feline master groomer/instructor/certifier at the school I go to called National Cat Grooming Institute of Anerica. I travel to Pittsburgh, PA, to be trained by her. It’s a long way. But she is the best. She is also a master dog groomer (although she now runs a cat only grooming salon in Pittsburgh) and just competed in the creative grooming at Groom Expo in Hershey, PA on Sept. 15th. I was there with her. Her work just blew my mind. It was great to be in the grooming world for all weekend.

Luffy’s stool/urine/blood works came back today. She got a clean bill of health. Yay. When Dr. Botros at Kew Gardens Animal Hospital examined Luffy, he said “she is a clean cat” as Luffy’s teeth, ears and hair are all squeaky clean. I told him “hay, I’m a cat groomer. Of course my cat is clean”. 🤣

Brief translation:
Hairball hell

Last summer, my cat Luffy was suffering an excessive hairballs. She was then 8 years old.

I adopted Luffy when she was 5.5 years old and her former owner simply said to me "she vomits hairball once a week". Well, that was alarming! I had it under control with brushing and hairball remover for 3 years. Until last summer.

My vet concluded it was a "seasonal hairball", and suggested a "lion cut". After screaming to my cat friends for help, I got these wonderful master cat groomers who are based in Brooklyn. I didn't want a lion cut, so they shaved Luffy's sanitary area and all her belly, up to under arms, then shampoo. She got so fluffed up and Boom! No more hairballs!

Groomers rescued Luffy and me from a hairball hell. This is why I became a cat groomer. Cheers.

My cat Luffy’s annual check up today at Kew Gardens Animal Hospital. 2 clinic resident cats are so friendly. They came to say hi to Luffy in the stroller as soon as we got there. This clinic is clean, and nice people and very caring veterinarian. Dr. Botros took his time to examine Luffy.
