*Throwback to when we put the Beta pups inside a large bin while cleaning their playpen because these silly gooses became escape artists and could climb out of anything 😂 They actually thought it was a new toy! Just look at those faces! 😆 Real Reason for Post: Sooooo, part of being ethical breeders is making sure there is a demand for what we do. With that being said, we have decided to start a WAITING LIST to drum up interest PRIOR to breeding. This way the new pawrents get to be more invested in the entire process; from pre-conception to birth, development, and more and not simply shopping around for the best deal, which could prove costly for pawrents down the line and not fair for puppies who are waiting for loving forever homes. We believe this approach allows people to play an active part in their future puppies lives, form an early attachment, as well as observe how much time, energy, resources, and love go into bringing a healthy, well adjusted living being into the earth for them and their families. With that said, if you are interested in learning more about how our waiting list works and upcoming litters, or just have general questions about our program, feel free to private message us. Once the waiting list fills, we will remain in contact with everyone on a weekly basis about updates. Let's talk tear stains. Many puppies who are teething may develop tear stains. Some dogs can be hypersensitive to the amount of minerals found in drinking water. Also, in recent studies, scientists found high amounts of PFAS in some bottled water brands (Consumer Reports, 2020). Yikes! So one thing we've recently done is switch from bottled spring water to filtered water. We also apply an oatmeal and blueberry wash their folds, use wipes which have aloe Vera and chamomile in the ingredients, and apply an anti-fungal anti-bacterial topical ointment that has natural zinc oxide and soothing coconut oil that creates a barrier to keep moisture at bay. If you've done all the above and still no results, it may be time to talk to your vet to make sure there aren't any underlying issues such as food/environmental allergens. When you have multiple dogs, sometimes codependency challenges can arise. A major sign is anxiety, pacing, panting, or frantically looking for the other dog(s) they are bonded to when not in their presence. They can also become overly protective. This behavior can also develop with their humans (yep, you can spend too much time with your pups). So we've been helping Metronome (aka Gnomie) work through his codependency hurdles which is common when you have littermates. He's making much progress and developing more confidence by himself in public. You can still see hesitation, but he's come a long way from running/hiding between my legs and almost taking us both out on the side walk ha! Next, we'll take him to some Frenchie meetups without his siblings, then perhaps allow the doggie daycare bus to pick him up once per week for a few hours when he's ready. Side note: Not every dog needs this behavior modification, as some love being away from the others, but the goal is for him, and all our doggies, to be happy, healthy, and confident.
