The price per dozen eggs has increased due to an increase in overhead cost to produce the eggs (eg. Packaging, feed, veterinary bills). We were and still will be selling them at a loss but we are asking $5 per dozen effective immediately. We use the funds to help pay for feed for the animals. I just wanted to let you know prior to your next purchase. Thank you for your support.

SHARA will use the funding to cover expenses for resident livestock, birds, waterfowl, and rabbits including food, supplements, and vetting.

Check out the listing of vendors. $10 admission which directly benefits Griffon Pond and children 12 and under are FREE!!

At the SHARA table.... we will have local, handcrafted unique country crafts including canvasses, mugs, and totes. All lovingly designed by Jolene Lentkowski, a local school teacher . We will also have some items for sale such as dog Halloween costumes!

Update: they've found a home!

Hello everyone! I'm looking for direct placement for 3 silkie roos, photos below. Currently with a rescue in Staten Island but roosters are illegal there so they must be placed elsewhere ASAP. I have two roosters, one aggressive, otherwise I would take these handsome boys. Text ,570-360-5702 if you or someone you know is interested. This has been an exceptionally hard week for my family and for the crew at Sleepy Hollow Acres ... We lost my aunt/godmother last Thursday unexpectedly. A few days later, we lost Aspen to illness. Yesterday, Luna and Patsy passed. Early this am, Pearl. And if you could believe it because I couldn't, they all passed from different causes. They all were special needs. Life is so unfair and devastating at times. I loved all of them so so much. And it might sound silly to you to lump my human Aunt with my feathered and fur babies but if you know, you know. Small or big, we are grateful for each life lived and the love they gave to each of us. May they all rest in peace. We'll see each other soon. I love you. 💜💔💜💔

This week has been one of the hardest for my family with the loss of my aunt and godmother, my mother's only sibling, and now a staple here at Sleepy Hollow Acres. Aspen left us yesterday. While these turkeys don't have a long life expectancy, we certainly thought we had a few more years with you. We thought we had more than a few more with Aunt Val. While we've been learning about loss and coping over the last few years, 2024 is the ultimate lesson. Hold your loved ones a little tighter. Say 'I love you' more often. Life your life authentically. The food truck converts to a lunch/dinner menu with delicious, authentic Puerto Rican food including empanadas, pernil, tostones, platanos, and rice and beans. 🍲 The owners are so welcoming and their food is delicious. Thursday through Sunday 12 - 5 pm, located next to Sue's Corner Cuts at 448 Cemetery Rd, right off 590 across from the Rite Aid.

They are three years old on the skinny side but very very lovable. Hank is like a bull in the china shop walking on tippy toes lol they get along with kids… people… cats… dogs just about everyone. I would love to be able to keep them but I just started renting a place and I have a tiny dog and I’m scared if landlord sees all three here I will be evicted my son and his wife broke up and he was able to get dogs back but they are living in back of his van now. He is disabled so only gets so much a month he will go days without eating to get them alittle food it’s breaking his heart getting rid of them but right now he has no choice until he gets his feet on the ground and health in shape he lost one leg at age of 23 to diabetes so he needs to put himdelf first. They love to run and need a home that they can do that I can not give that to them right now. The love hikes I’m really hoping you can help me and they do not have an anger or trigger issues. You can touch thier good as they eat out of the bowl together.

Zoey and Zeke keeping their baby brother Kitty company while he heals from his neuter surgery. Doc came to us from a local farm (unwanted pregnancy) and infested with fleas. Two years later, he's a mush that we all love. We are so happy his surgery went well and that he's on the mend. 💜🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

Update 7/1: Luna is eating better today and is still under veterinary care and hospitalization to monitor her infection. She finally had a bowel movement which is important when considering GI stasis. Continued prayers for Luna welcome!

As requested by one of our community members, the residents at Sleepy Hollow Acres are always in need of supplies such as chicken/duck (layer) and rabbit feed (producers pride). We also take old towels to help residents when they are sick. Other items we go through quickly include bags of the tractor supply pine shavings and snacks like romaine lettuce, peas, apples, carrots, etc for the bunnies and birds. We are in need of enrichment items for the rabbits like toys. The livestock guardian dog, Sofie, that watches the crew eats moist n meaty with treats like beggin strips and jerk chicken. She loves bones. I have Luna, one of our resident rabbits, in the hospital now. So that bill will be coming due and was an estimated $1700-2000. Donations always welcome. Are you thinking of getting a rabbit?

Please never purchase from a breeder or other POS (points of sale). The only way to stop breeders from breeding and stores from selling rabbits is to NOT buy from them.

It's difficult to know the exact number of rabbits in American household. Unfortunately, there aren't any truly accurate or current numbers. However, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association’s (AVMA’s) 2022 U.S. Pet Ownership & Demographics Sourcebook, 1.2% of households ( 1.5 million) owned rabbits and that there are 2.2 million pet rabbits.

Those numbers don't include rabbits in rescues, shelters or dumped - still praying for a home. 🥺 My personal guesstimate is - if there were 2.2 millions in homes, there probably are at least that amount Homeless and Dying! 😢😢😢
