Please say some prayers and send good energy to our senior poodle girl TRIXIE.
She had either a minor stroke or some other neurological event or some random inner ear inflammation starting late Wednesday
She has been diagnosed with vestibulitis.
She is actually a little better today than she was yesterday.
We believe she will heal fully unless it's something worse.
Time will tell.
She is in good spirits, and thankfully, she is able to eat, drink, and do her business on her own despite the head tilt.
We will update you in a few days' time.

JAMAICA, the tortie kitten we rescued last week, is doing well!
She has a checkup this Saturday, but looks like she will be just fine.
We are so glad we could help her.

We are really sad to report that JUNIE's adoption meet was canceled by the prospective adopter prior to meeting.
We are so frustrated that this perfect little girl hasn't been scooped up yet.
She truly is the best puppy girl ever.
She has so much love, joy and fun in her and anyone who adopts her will have hit the jackpot.
When will it be her time??

Our 4+ month old puppies from Hempstead Shelter, RONIN and JUNIE, had their rabies vaccines today.
Now they are fully vetted, with exception of neuter/spay in about 4 months or so.
They did great for the appts, RONIN was definitely a cry baby for it, but JUNIE was a trooper.
RONIN is spoken for, but JUNIE still needs a home.
She is puppy perfection, no exaggeration!!
Good with all!
And she will only be about 40lbs tops, as per our vet, since she weighed only 21lbs today.
That is the perfect size in our book.
Surely JUNIE can easily fit into your heart and home very well.

Got fluids, antibiotics, and is eating.
She should be able to leave the vet tomorrow.

Our super good boy BLUE from Babylon Shelter, had his first vet appt today, and he was a champ for it.
Doc said he looks in good shape overall.
He has a cataract in his left eye and doesn't see out of it, which we figured. The pressure is good in that eye, so it's stable and should be fine. He sees well out of his right eye, and he isn't in any pain with left eye.
As for his heart, it is confirmed he has a murmur, but perhaps not as significant as the shelter assessed.
We will set up an echo and then go from there, and determine if we can get his dental done and take care of his yucky teefs.
He is a perfect little boy in our eyes, that's for sure!

HAPPY FRIDAY, FRIENDS! Our tiny angel VIVI is fully recovered/symptom free and looking forward to the weekend and her adoption meet!
Tiny girl VIVI left the hospital this afternoon. Her bloods were all within normal, in addition to lungs and heart being clear upon exam yesterday. She will be on antibiotics for two weeks. But she is more energetic and happy as of this afternoon, so we are hopeful she will make a full recovery.
Here are adoptables TRIXIE and LOUIE along with FOF grad FIFI, bopping around outside this morning. TRIXIE, the lanky poodley one you see here, is just happy to be outside, entertaining herself. LOUIE and FIFI have something of a love affair going on and it's really adorable. LOUIE is the maltesey looking one and he is 2-3 years old, and FIFI is the scruffy terrier and she is 15-16 years old, and he pretty much worships her. FIFI has had a hard time lately, losing her beagle brothes and another very close doggie friend, but LOUIE has really brought more vim and wackiness back in her and we are so happy to see her bop around like this all the time with LOUIE. Such amazing creatures these dogs are, and how lucky we are that we get to share our lives with them!

STREAKER is such a cute and charming little fella! He and his brother WEENIE are looking for a home together. You may recall WEENIE from his video last Friday. WEENIE is content to just sit in the yard and feel the sun on his face. We know they are very different dogs when it comes to energy level, but they are both very lovely and very lovable dogs. Our little senior fella WEENIE sure enjoys the simple pleasures in life... the sun on his face, a good soft head pat and ear massage... He asks for so little, and he is such a grateful boy. Surely there is someone out there for him and his brother...

The Ramones Puppies JOEY, JOHNNY, DEEDEE, and TOMMY are 8 weeks old now and having a blast, playing with toys and getting so big and cuter with every passing day! Mama JOVIE is looking on, along with her foster friends. We have great news to share with you... All puppies and mama JOVIE are adoption pending! Adoption date for all is Sunday, March 17 (Of course we will cover more vetting, including vaccines and spay/neuter.) We have chosen some wonderful families for these babies, and we are so happy for everyone! Look how well our little JUPITER is doing in his foster home! You may recall that his mom who adopted him last fall just passed away, and he is back now in our care in a great foster home. JUPITER is an adorable senior chi mix who would love a home with a retired couple where he can hang out, follow his people around and be loved a lot. He is shy and a little aloof at first, but within a day or two when he knows he is safe he falls in love with his people, very deeply. Please share to help us find JUPITER's forever home!
