Angel is headed to a foster home, but still would really love a family of his own! This boy was abandoned in the streets by his former “family” and left to fend for himself. He is underweight and suffering from vision issues, so he surely would not have survived without SCR stepping in to help him!

✨ Meet the sweetest little gentleman ever - Clyde! ✨

This boy was struggling to survive on the streets before we stepped in, and his foster mom says he is so grateful to be in a safe place! He is really playful, enjoys sunbathing and birdwatching, and will happily spend time on the couch or bed with you! 🥰

This gorgeous 1.5 year old girl was surrendered by her family along with her kitten as their children “wanted a dog instead.” Their loss is our gain because Luna is an absolute gem! 💎

🚨 Hunter has been waiting since May 2023 🚨 for someone to notice him! He is a former bodega cat who was about to be tossed out onto the street, but fortunately was rescued in the nick of time! Now he waits… 😔

He is about 2.5 years old and is enjoying life being part of a foster family, but he really wants a true forever family. He gets along great with his furry foster sibling, so he would do just fine in a home with another cat! Hunter is more of an explorer than a lap cat, but he loves to be close to his foster family at night and sleeps nearby. He loves finding new places to hide and playing with his stash of mice and balls! ⚽️

Goofy is our sassy boy who came to us all the way from the streets of Lebanon! 🇱🇧 He is 7 years old with a beautiful long coat, and he seems to know it! His foster mom says he walks with a little swagger 😎

Goofy is on a prescription diet as he is a foodie, but he is doing great. He gets along great with his furry foster siblings and his human foster siblings, too! He even goes to bed with his human foster sister every night! He also has a feisty side, but don’t we all? 💅

Yoo-hoo! It’s me, Sky! 👋🏻 I was hoping to catch the attention of my forever family. Over the past five months, I have been bounced around to a number of different foster homes through no fault of my own. It’s so hard on me every time as I don’t know what I’m doing wrong 😔

I have not had an easy life. When I was rescued as a baby, I was found almost frozen to death. Unfortunately, my finder had to move back to her home country, so I again found myself without a home. All of my past foster homes have described me as being a bonafide lap cat, super mellow, and sweet. I even get along with other male cats 🐱

I am only 2.5 years old and have lots of love to give! I am just hoping someone will see this and love me back. If you cannot add me to your family, maybe you know someone who can! Let them know they can find me, Sky, at nycscr.org ❤️

KC has been waiting FOREVER for someone to notice him - over a year and a half! 😥 What gives? This 5-year-old boy was found on the streets suffering from an attack and malnourishment. Thankfully, he was rescued, but now he sits and waits for a forever home that he is afraid may never come 😔

KC has FELV, but he really deserves a loving home to live out the rest of his days! He is sooo extra sweet and such a gentle boy. He enjoys playtime with his FELV foster brother and even gets along great with the resident dog! KC is just so precious! What’s not to love?! 😘

Unfortunately, there is no cure for FELV, and KC will not be able to go to a home with a non-FELV cat, but he is just the sweetest boy ever that will offer so much love and affection! Please do not let his diagnosis deter you!

Sundays aren’t so scary when Little Jill is around! 🥰

This 7-month-old girl has completely transformed over the last few months in foster care. When she first arrived in her foster home, she would not even look at her foster mom and would bolt any time she approached. Fast forward a few months, and Little Jill absolutely LOVES being pet, follows her foster mom all over the house, and is a total cuddle bug!

Little Jill enjoys playing with her foster sibling kittens, gets along great with the resident dog, and is even gentle with young children. She is a purring machine! Sit down next to her on the sofa, and she will gladly accept all of the pets you can give her! 😘

✨ Meet Al! ✨ This 12-year-old gentleman was one of 25 cats left behind when their owner died. Al is such a polite senior boy with a gentle soul 🥰

He loves to explore, and while he can be a bit of an introvert, he gets along great with other cats! Al is shy at first, but it doesn’t take him long to warm up and ask for pets. He even likes being held and chirps all day long! 🐥

Senior cars rule

Foster needed! Can someone help Sunshine ☀️? Sunshine was found a few days ago in Roslyn in a yard. An Emaciated, dehydrated senior cat with an oral tumor. Finding homes for seniors are incredibly challenging, so when you adopt an older cat, you’re truly saving a life. Sunshine is no trouble at all, and he’s sweet as pie and very relaxing. “This kitten was found outside, five legs, herniated diaphragm nearly 1 pound.” A vet tech called us in a panic - the SCR co founder rushed over. Sikandar was his name, meaning "defender" or "warrior." He was alert and sweet. We were sure he had this, but a few hours later, he lost the battle. He passed in his sleep. We couldn't wait to be proud of this rescue. We couldn't wait to see how his life would turn out. These are the hard moments in rescue. Not everyone has the ending they deserve. We try though. RIP, Lil buddy. You mattered, Sikander.

Help us help Baby Watson

💔 We received a heart breaking call for help from Fulton County. A severely injured kitten was brought into the shelter after being run over by a car. He cannot stand; his body trembles and the staff are worried that he is on the verge of crashing. He has the slightest amount of deep pain sensation in his back legs which may indicate that all hope is not lost. Internal injuries are currently unknown, and the shelter does not have the resources to diagnosis or help him. Emergency treatment is critical for his survival. The sooner treatment is started to address the paralysis, the better chance he will have to walk again. We have named this little boy Watson and could really use your help tonight to cover his medical costs. We are rushing him to an emergency hospital and will update you as soon as we can. Rum Raisin needs our help !

Rum Raisin is a 3 pound 3 month old kitten who survived a fall and was sent to a city shelter by a kind civilian. The shelter called NYC SCR and stated the urgency for this helpless little girl. Chest X-rays indicated (R)sided pulmonary contusion. She also has a broken femur. This baby is on pain meds constantly and needs a plate to keep her femur together. Contributions to her vet care to ensure she lives her young life to the fullest potential will be so appreciated! No donation is too small.

Duchess walks again!

After one week of cage rest… Duchess got on her 4 paws and showed us what she’s got ! We are so proud of you Dutchess for surviving that fall and being so courageous and brave! We welcomed a new kitty all the way from Fulton, Georgia. She is named Lisa. Lisa was found with 3 fractured legs and surgery was done to internally stabilize the fractures with pins. She’s healed so well, no physical limitations and she might be the cutest and sweetest pint size feline I’ve seen fully grown! While Raynaldo looks like a tough cat, he is really just a big softy. His foster mom states he loves head rubs, cuddles, sitting in laps and is great at being picked up!
