The Love & Licks Foundation® was created by Metro Paws® with the objective of saving as many dogs as possible. This big cat is ready for his purrfect home! ..

Mowgli is a very special Cat. He’s an eight year old Orange/Buff Tabby/White American Shorthair with a round face, white chin, chest and feet, pale green eyes and little brown dots on his pink nose. Mowgli is intuitive, smart and social. He’s a big boy: 13 1/2 pounds! Mowgli is very smart, affectionate, and wants to please, but he has to trust you before he can show his most affectionate side. When that happens, he is so affectionate and loyal and he loves the outdoors and can go on a leash if the owner is already knowledgeable about safely leashing and walking a cat. Mowgli needs a good nail scratching area/scratcher toys or posts. He likes interactive play and also a few toys, but most of all, likes being attached to his owner and feeling special. His human has never seen him with another Cat, but believes Mowgli would be an alpha cat in the situation, although might love the company of another cat, but they have not tried that. No Dogs or young children please. Mowgli started life outdoors, but has been an indoor Cat for some years now. An ideal situation would be an indoor home with a catio where he could have the best of both worlds. After having puppies and having to leave her home, Frisbee is ready for a new home. Can you help this sweet girl out?..

Meet Frisbee! Frisbee came into our care after receiving a request to help a gentleman in between housing. She gave birth to 8 puppies in a trailer home and there was concern for her and her puppies safety after there was multiple attempts to steal the dogs. Wags and Walks offered resources to the gentleman and helped get the dogs to safety. Despite Frisbee’s past, she has always maintained a happy-go-lucky personality. Frisbee is a friendly, silly girl who is always excited to make new friends. She enjoys going on walks, hikes, and any adventure her person is going on. Frisbee completed a training program with where she worked on leash manners and other skills and has been doing great. She is potty and crate-trained and will thrive in a fairly active household that can continue her training with her. Frisbee is the happiest, most loving girl, and we can’t wait for her to find her forever home!

This senior pup needs a forever home where he can enjoy his golden years...

We want you to meet this very sweet handsome older man named Chauncey. He is 11yrs 4mos old. He loves to go on walks and he’s leash-trained. Chauncey also rides in the car well and is potty-trained. He loves belly rubs and enjoys chewing on a bone every now and then too. He would prefer a calmer environment, a home with no other dogs and prefers to live with older children. You can meet Chauncey at our main shelter, 3227 E Bell Rd, Ste D151 in Pheonix. We are truly hoping that this happy gentleman doesn’t have to spend another day in the shelter. This pup is smart and cuddly. Could you or someone you know give Faith a home?..

You guys are really sleeping on this one! We don’t use the term “chill puppy” often, but Faith fits the bill.

She’s a shy, sweet, ~6 month old pup who is dog-friendly and gets along with some cats. Faith loves to cuddle (both humans and dogs) and she’s good about reading cues from other dogs. Another pup in the home would be great to help build her confidence. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps through the night in her crate. Her adopter is going to be a lucky one!

🆘URGENT!🆘Help Samantha get out of the Baldwin Park Shelter alive!
Samantha is a delightful 6-year-old spayed female cat who was brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on January 16 because her owner passed away. Three other cat companions were also brought in with her: Trevor (A5528149), Martin (A5528150 and Blue (A5528151), Weighing just over 7 lbs, Samantha is a small feline with a big personality! She’s very eager to meet and engage with anyone who approaches her. When placed on the table for her glamour photo, it was clear she had no intention of participating in such nonsense when there was an entire room to explore. She was so funny and cute! Samantha will be a wonderful friend and companion for anyone. Samantha is very pretty, too. With her shiny sleek coat and beautiful auburn eyes.

During her vet exam, it was noted that she may have a hernia in her abdomen, but that it did not seem to cause her any discomfort. An outside vet visit is encouraged for further diagnosis.

Aww man, our sweet eight-year-old Boris has been returned to no fault of his own. He was adopted in 2020 and his owner has now gone into assisted living. We are hoping for a quick turnaround back into a home. Boris can live with other dogs, can sometimes take a minute to warm up to new people. A home with no children would be best. Loma's a rescue from Mexico who needs a home who can care for her while she recovers...

Loma-2 years old/40 pounds
Loma escaped our transport the day she crossed from Mexico. She was on the run for 5 WEEKS until we were able to capture her! (Thanks to )
She fractured her knee while out and was living in rural neighborhood when people started seeing her on their cameras! 🫠🫠
Boy were we glad to have her back!
Although very scared at first she only took a few days to become the most loving girl. Always wants to be near you, always happy and cheerful.
Her knee was very badly damaged and we are still working with an orthopedic surgeon.
We are hoping to find a foster to care for her while she goes to her ortho appointments -Southern Ca
She is a dream- crate trained, quiet, smiling, happy, great with other dogs and people, gentle and loving.

Lottie has lots of love to give! Can you give this sweet gal a home?..

Lottie had a staycation away from her foster home this weekend and she did wonderfully! She lounged, played with stuffies, and kenneled up nicely at night. She loves being near people and since she didn’t bring any of her foster friends along - she got to be spoiled rotten! This girl has been with us for a year now and it’s really astounding. We just don’t know why! She needs a forever family!

This pup has been waiting patiently for his forever home. 😢..

Little Joshua has waited 540 days to find his perfect forever home. Just like every dog he simply wants a chance and we wish that someone would see the good boy we see and give him that chance. If you meet him we think you just might fall in love. From his velvety soft fur to his puppy dog eyes. He’s really blossomed in foster care and he’s more than ready to find that perfect home of his own. Maybe you’ll be his home?

Sometimes we think potential adopters turn away from our long term dogs. They think because they haven’t been adopted quickly the dog must be a bad dog and that’s the reason no one wants them. We promise our long term dogs are really great dogs they’ve just been overlooked. Sometimes it’s their breed. Sometimes it’s their size but whatever the reason these are dogs that have been passed by but yet still hold out hope that their people are out there.

Divina has yet to receive a single adoption application! 💔 If you know anyone who can give her a loving home, please send this their way...

Out sweet Divina! Let’s chat about her story. She ended up at an overcrowded shelter in Texas. They later learned she was pregnant. She went into labor, and her puppies were stillborn at the time of the delivery. Two days later and she was still uncomfortable, and she had to have emergency surgery to find more puppies stuck inside and stillborn. Unfortunately, her puppies never had a chance to be born in a shelter. But then we learned momma Davina is incontinent from nerve damage. So we had to give the shelter an answer within 12 hours, yes, we will take her, or no, we can’t take on a dog like this. Because of a wonderful foster home, we were able to say yes. Yes to a life outside of a shelter, yes to the medical care she needs, and yes to a warm cozy foster home.

This Valentine’s we’re highlighting some of our long-term dogs and in her case special needs. Divina is adoptable but has yet to receive one adoption application. Most likely due to her being incontinent. Her foster family has been caring for but it’s not easy with the amount of supplies needed to care for a dog like this: Diapers, wipes, and she is a heavy-duty chewer so durable toys/bones to keep her mind stimulated. This sweet senior is looking for a loving home. If you're in LA, adopt Adelaide!..

Did you all forget about Adelaide?! Well don’t!! She is STILL here just living her best foster life in Maeday Rescue. This gal just saw the vet for her crusty eyes and there was talk about removing her eyes. It sounds scary, but she’d be in less pain and wouldn’t have chronic eye infections. For now we are managing her glaucoma and other eye issues with drops, but that may not work forever.

Adelaide is so youthful, loves walks, loves dogs and people and doesn’t have a bad bone in her body! She’s a delight to be around and we are so sad that nobody has expressed interest in her. Don’t seniors deserve loving homes too?

BETTY is looking for a loving foster home or her forever family (have not dog tested yet). We pulled Betty from the shelter per request by someone that wanted to adopt her - long story short the adopter backed out! Now we have a big girl that we were not at all prepared for!

Miyana is a 14 week old, 3-pound female kitten with mild Cerebellar Hypoplasia.

Miyana is the wobbly CH kitten of your dreams. This sweet kitten was brought into the shelter as a stray two days after Christmas, meaning she survived outside in the 10 degree weather. Miyana is a determined and feisty kitty who has been quick to adapt to her condition. She loves to play and putter around the house. She knows how to respect boundaries of other cats/humans in the house and is also happy playing independently with her ball. Watching her clumsily march around the house is so endearing, and she is very content in smaller spaces.

Miyana loves company and purrs as soon as she hears the sound of your voice. When the day is up, nothing makes her happier than curling up on your lap for scritches and belly rubs.

Miyana is fully litter box trained using a high sided litter box. She’s never had an accident and is very independent.

We are looking for a loving family for Miyana who will help her navigate the world. Miyana gets along with dogs, cats, and even kids!

she is a 7 month old border collie/lab mix, weighing 35-40 pounds.

she is very sweet & friendly with humans and other pups. she loves to be the center of attention. we do believe she would do best in a home with another pup of a similar energy level.

she does need lots of exercise as her mix breed indicates. we think Ember would be happiest with a fully fenced yard so she can run and play safely. she has plenty of energy to burn!
