PAWS NY A nonprofit that helps older adults and vulnerable New Yorkers by helping them care for their pets. Thus, our motto: helping people by helping pets.

The mission of Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS) NY is to help New York City’s most vulnerable residents remain with their pets by delivering critical programs and services through a community of partners and volunteers. Our programs help keep pets in their homes while protecting and promoting the human-animal bond that is so physically and psychologically valuable to our clients. We hope you'll help raise awareness for our work by inviting your friends to follow our page!

In 2016, what was PAWS NY up to...

We had just hired Liz Raganella, who is still here as Senior Program Manager 10 years later!
PAWS had 918 trained volunteers total - now we have over 7,000!
In 2016, we did about 14,000 annual visits through Housecall; this year we will do approx. 35,000!
In 2016, the total people helped through all programs in 2016 was 100, and this year it will be approx. 900!
We celebrated our 1,000th volunteer in April 2016, and in 2026 we will reach our 10,000th volunteer!

Can't wait to see where PAWS NY will be in 2036!
