Reilly was adopted into our family at the young age of 4 months old. He had some behavioral issues that had to be worked out, but through intense training, and reading and researching through many books, Reilly has become an inspiration. He has instilled a passion in my life of the animal and human connection. After adopting and raising Reilly in Minneapolis for the past 4 years, my husband and I
decided it was time to move back East. During my time in the Midwest, I established a Pet Care Services business, which thrived for its entire three-year duration. When we moved to NYC I wanted to continue working with animals and Urban Pawz was born. I grew up in Miami, Florida and went to Law School at Penn State. My love for animals began with my own family pets, Koko, the shih tzu, and Kookie, the calico cat. They were my siblings, albeit a bit furrier than friends' siblings. Being a parent to Reilly reinforced the love of animals Koko and Kookie started in me. My approach to the animal-human relationship is to establish deep connections between my four-legged and two legged clients, while giving peace of mind to pet owners by establishing a profound level of trust. I strongly believe in continual education concerning all types of animals and their care, as well as staying informed on changing trends and animal theory. I have been actively learning about animals my entire life by owning and caring for family pets; working in pet-related industries; fostering rescue dogs; and continuing my education through books, publications, and classes. Running UrbanPawz is not a job for me: it is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to help further the understanding, and strengthen the relationships, between pets and their people.
