I think it would be safe to say that every dog needs structure and boundaries.
.
depending on what this means and depending on what Dog this could be something that easily makes a dog thrive or makes a dog worse.
.
So what is it you mean by structural and boundaries when you say it?

One of the most difficult things is working very hard for the compliments that your dog always gets. However, if you want to know her secret, it’s in her nutrition. Maybe a little bit of genetics.😂

It’s too often that I hear people say positive reinforcement did not work so we must use punishment.
.
I am not saying that there is no time in place for punishment, but I am saying is that changing behavior is much more than reinforcing and punishing.
.
I focus on changing a dog‘s behavior by making them feel better. That doesn’t mean I’m telling anybody else their methods are wrong. But I guarantee you didn’t think someone could stop aggressive behavior with massage..(which I do all the time)
.
Disclaimer: do not attempt these techniques if you do not know what you’re doing. You can easily make things worse.

It’s really important to understand that nutrition will have an impact on your dogs behavior in One Direction or another so it’s better to optimize it.
.
Many studies have been done on tryptophan were some say it will calm your dog and others say it won’t. I would absolutely speak to a Pet nutritionist because the amount that your dog gets balanced with other foods is what is going to create the most impact.
.
Omega-3’s reduce aggression
.
Blueberries reduce stress
.
Pumpkin helps with digestion, which will help everything
.
I feed my dog @darwinspetfood and she loves it. it seems to hit most of the pointe.
.
Last but not least people get tired of Thanksgiving because they over eat. It’s not because of the turkey.

If you’re interested in a pet nutritionist, you could private message me and I will send one your way

1) Your dog is not protecting you. Make no mistake, I’m sure there’s a dog out there that has protected a child at some point, and that might be the only exception which is still up for debate.
.
2) Don’t be fooled by marketing when it comes to your training treat
.
3) punishing a puppy is not gonna get you anywhere. So put in the work

Thailand was amazing experience, which gave me a combination between business and pleasure
.
Of course, I had the opportunity to visit temples, learn the culture, and make sure I gained at least 7 pounds from amazing food. But they’re worth three priorities
.
volunteering at an elephant sanctuary was not all fun games. It was a lot of work, but I learned an amazing amount of information that will absolutely help me with my craft!
.
I spent a significant amount of time studying street dogs. Taking the information that I learned in Mexico perfectly prepared me for Thailand!
.
Spending time with monkeys is not the safest thing and I am not recommending it to anybody. However, you absolutely learn how to angle your body, understand how to not challenge, but stay confident, do not invade space but do not give it when pressure is applied to you….. as well as watching them and their hierarchy. They’re actually was someone that was attacked by one of the monkeys because the monkey wanted to see if they had anything value on them. But that’s for another post..

something that trainers need to talk about more when it comes to treating dogs that suffer from fear, reactivity, aggression, or any type of dysregulation issues and behavioral incompatibilities.
.
i’m not a canine nutritionist, but there’s many of them out there. And they will tell you that when it comes to canine nutrition, it is definitely not changing auto parts. It is not about having more of this or more of that. It is about balance and getting your food from a good source.
.
if you were making a massive investment in training your dog and you’re not focused on nutrition then you’re fighting an uphill battle.
.
I do not claim to know everything about nutrition is a matter of fact, I think I know very little, but I’m gonna share everything that I have for everyone .
.
if you want to know what I feed my dog as you saw in the video, I give her @darwinspetfood premade raw and I will continue to post on why that is my choice.. if that is something you want to try you could use code WAGBI and get your first order 50% off and a percentage will be going to @nycacc .

many people are having their dogs jump up on things because someone told them to build confidence. Just because your dog jumps up on something doesn’t mean it’s automatically get to build confidence. It’s not what you do. Its also how your dog feels doing it..
.
making a dog perform a behavior it’s uncomfortable doing to only achieve a result of being in a position it’s uncomfortable in. Hoping for the relief is not something that builds confidence.
.

If you were going put your dog through a stressful situation to build confidence, then it’s important to know what Dogs to do it with and the risk you may be taking if you do it with the wrong dog.
.
If you have a fearful dog, it’s important to understand that your dog is living in a life of stress and adding to it may be doing more damage than good.
.
It doesn’t mean we will not be putting that dog through stressful situations to build. But you really have to know what you’re doing in. My advice is to seek out a professional rather than mimicking something you see on social media.
.
If you are Dog Trainer and you want to learn more please send me a DM, or an email and I’ll be happy to work with you

The most important thing about building a dog’s confidence through stress is teaching the dog that they have complete control during the stressful situation. The next step is teaching them that they can actually control what stresses them out. But unfortunately, that’s a little more nuanced..
.
If you force your dog into a stressful situation, eventually your dog may realize this is not as scary as I thought. But do you want to take that chance? The best case scenario is that your dog realizes it wasn’t scary and it’s completely fine. But that does not build confidence beyond that specific scenario.
.
Giving a dog to freedom to deal with stress on its own and overcome it on its own, will transfer to every part of your dog’s life and build resilience as well .
.
Dipper is still on it, his journey to building confidence. And we will get dipper to its full potential.. but we will make sure dipper has control every step of the way
#dogtraining #nycdogtrainer #dog #nycdogtraining #dogtrainingtips #dogtrainingadvice #dogtrainer #ethology #fearfuldog #confidencebuilding
I have been sent at least 15 posts in the past week of trainers(some of them, friends and mutuals) actually forcing a dog into stressful situations, convincing the general public that this builds confidence.
.
This is a very dangerous line to walk because if for some reason you magically help one dog, you will likely hurt many more.
.
Studies have shown that if you carefully increase stress that the dog can handle you will see increase confidence. However, if you have to force the dog into the stressful situation then you’re stepping over $100 bill to pick up a quarter.
The stress goes into conjunction with the dog having the ability to cope, make decisions, and feel in control.
.
I look forward to the conversation conversations. Keep them respectful.

Manding is when a dog performs a behavior to request something specific that they want from the owner.
.
Does your dog have specific ways to communicate with you when it wants something?
.
Manding it’s not always done out of frustration, but it can be.
