🥁DRUM ROLL PLEASE! You know what that means! That’s right WE HAVE AN ADOPTION IN THE HOUSE! At age 10, our boy Conan has found his forever home! Conan is the sweetest boy ever and we couldn’t be happier that he now can start his new journey. As you can see he is settling in nicely. Let’s all wish Conan a happy life! We will miss you buddy!

Sasha is still looking for her happy ending. This sweetheart is great with kids and all people in general. Pictures certainly don’t do her justice. She is extremely affectionate, leaning into our volunteers, looking for hugs and pets. Sasha loves playing with her human friends and going for long walks, or running around in a yard. Sasha is also extremely intelligent and appears to have received a good training regiment. Let’s make her dreams come true and find her a home to call her own. Click LIKE then share for Sasha!

CUTENESS ALERT! Well I took the plunge after losing Dràgo a year ago and I am fostering Nox for the weekend while her foster mom takes a little vacation.

Today Nox got to go on an adventure where she got to test her Dinosaur Wrangling skills—meeting the Mighty T-Rex and all his prehistoric friends! As you can see she had them all under control. She told them who is boss! She enjoyed hanging out with all the staff at Field Station: Dinosaurs too!

Here’s what I’ve learned about Nox:

Nox is truly an amazing dog. She loves ALL people, big and small. I mean really LOVES them. She is smart…when you tell her to “sit”, she “sits”. When you tell her to “down”, she goes “down”. She even rolls over, gives paw, will drop her ball in your lap when you tell her to. She loves to carry her toys while going for a walk, which is absolutely adorable! She will play with her favorite ball or toy for hours if you let her. But keep in mind that means you’re playing too! But when it’s time to go to sleep, the lights go out and she drops her toy and enters dream land. (She has the cutest little snore too!) . Nox takes her food gently, is great in a house, she’s a dream in the car (she basically sleeps and looks out the back window). Oh, and she’s lived with a cat and her foster mom has a cat, too! Are you convinced yet she will make a perfect companion?

I’ve learned all of this about Nox, who is 9 years old in just a day and a half and I’m already smitten with her. Imagine what she will do to a new family during her golden years? It will be a love fest that’s for sure! So much unconditional love under one roof.

I have 2.5 days left with Nox and I look forward to every minute. She’s brought happiness back into my heart. I will be happier when she finds her forever, which may be sooner than later. I’m looking forward to being a foster success when the next dog walks through my door.

HAPPY 1 YEAR GOTCHA DAY TO KILO! This handsome fella was 2 years old when he found himself in a shelter when Sedona stepped in to help. It wasn’t long before he met his new family and the rest is history.

His forever family says:

“We want to thank Lisa and Sedona Shepherd for bringing Kilo, our Belgian Malinois into our lives. With training and consistency Kilo is now a loveable handful who enjoys walks, car rides, and chasing squirrels. He is enamored with mommy and always protects her from daddy.”

Update on Melo, age 13, a Forever Friends Foster dog:

Three weeks ago Melo had a Lateral ear canal resection, also known as the Zepp procedure. Yesterday he had his stiches out, cone removed, and ears cleaned. Doc gave him a good report and you can see in his pic that he looks great!

He goes back in a month for a check-up. Special thanks to Dominick for being Melo’s buddy and transporting him to his vet visits.

Gisella, his Forever Foster mom says, “I love Melo. He’s such a good boy and I’m so lucky to have him in my life. Thank you Sedona!”

IT’S $5 FRIDAY!
Help support Sedona in our mission to provide a loving home to all our special dogs. At Sedona we don’t shy away from senior dogs even if we know the odds of getting adopted are small. That is why we set up our Forever Foster Friends program. This program provides a safe and loving foster home for dogs that would otherwise be considered difficult to adopt because of their age or medical conditions.

Our Forever Foster Dogs still have love to share with a family and are able to maintain a good quality of life. Through donor support, Sedona Shepherd takes care of all medical expenses: ranging from routine checkups, medications, any needed special diets, emergency care, and end-of-life care. Our Forever Foster Friends offer the loving homes these dogs need. This program not only brings joy and purpose to our foster families, but also ensures that each senior dog receives the love and affection they truly deserve. Whether their stay lasts for months or years, Sedona Shepherd stands by our Forever Friends every step of the way throughout the journey.

Ari is a cool, easygoing German Shepherd who loves road trips and making friends, much like Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, but he doesn't need a Ferrari to turn heads. He’s been raised around children, adults, and other dogs, making him a trustworthy companion who’s well-behaved and trained. Ari is comfortable in various settings, including being left alone at home or in a crate, and he’s healthy and happy. Though initially cautious of cats, he may bark and chase, so no cats in the household. His owner had to move abroad, and now Ari is ready to find a loving new home where he can enjoy his next chapter.
