Today's Friday Foster Feature is

About Thelma (ID: 178514)
Can you believe I have been looking for my forever home for over a year?! My foster mom says I am such a good girl and super sweet. I love to cuddle on the couch while she works during the day. I will play with my toys after walks before my next nap (naps are the best!). I'm doing so well being in a home and I don't try to play with shoes or other stuffs that isn't mine. I'm an excellent passenger on car rides and I am perfect in my crate when I'm home alone. I am completely housebroken and have shown no signs of guarding my food or toys.

Commands I know: Sit, down, stay, off, paw, drop it, wait (threshold navigation such as doors and elevators). I'm also learning place and middle/center.

Likes: fruit, pumpkin, peanut butter, string cheese, treats, getting brushed, belly rubs, toys, bones, cuddles, being told I'm a good girl, lounging on couches and sleeping in a comfy bed!

Dislikes: vegetables, loud unexpected noises (I don't mind the vacuum though!)

I walk well on a loose leash and only pull a bit when I find a really good smell I want to check out. I don't chase squirrels or birds on my walks. I love getting to sniff around the neighborhood and park. I'm very gentle with kiddos and enjoy when they stop to say hello and pet me. Sometimes I get excited when I see a new doggie on the street but I haven't had much experience playing with other pups so I'll need proper introductions.

A volunteer writes: What a charming guy! Engaging and energetic, he was a fine "last dog" to end the day. He walked well carrying his toy, stayed charming while other dogs walked by (treats help!) and snuggled close to enjoy few minutes of breezy afternoon at the park. It's hard to tell from the photos but his beautiful black coat has wonderful flecks of gold which sparkle in the sun. What Bart needs now is a loving family to keep him safe and help him put his best paw forward. Could that be you?

Today we are very excited to share the adoption story of ACC Boroughbred,

Once in a pickle, now living the dill-lightful life! Pickles was found during a scorching heat wave, tied to a pole and left behind after recently having puppies—all at just one year old.

Her life changed when she locked eyes with her mom at the shelter. After being adopted, Pickles now enjoys the gherkin-greatest days lounging in her adorable pajamas, bringing relish and joy to everyone she meets. She gets her own birthday parties, and frequently goes on wonderful adventures. Whether she's brine-ing smiles or stealing hearts, Pickles is proof that every dog deserves a second chance to live their best life. 🐾❤️

Bebe Bluff is the longest stay at Queens ACC. We are all hoping that she will get the one thing she wants on her Christmas wishlist: a loving furever home!

7 year old Bebe Bluff was brought to ACC when her previous owner passed away. Despite what was likely a traumatic event, Bebe remains 80 pounds of pure love. She can’t get enough of toys and has the cutest smile while she waits for you to throw them for her.

Today we are sharing Penny’s adoption story!
Her pawrent writes:

One year ago today, a stork dropped this momma hippo off at my door. Sadie/ Cider was my 6th foster, and it took every ounce of self control not to adopt her that first week. Everyone asks if it’s hard to give up fosters when they’re adopted. It’s sad but I always knew they weren’t the ONE.

Leading up to and during the first week of having her, I was finding my lucky heads up pennies everywhere which is a huge sign for me. In the end, she was THE ONE! Adopting her was the best and most important decision I’ve made.

She’s curious, brave, playful, goofy, and so full of love I can’t even understand it. I’d find her in every lifetime. I have simply too much to say but I’m going to end it here. I love you Penny!

My BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Gino is quite the gentleman. He is a total companion, and such a sweet, loyal, and loving dog. He has very good listening skills- he sits, stays, lays down, and even gives paw. He takes treats very gently. He has a very easy and loose leash walk and will never allow you out of his site. Gino makes sure to always stay by your side. Gino enjoys taking the city in- from Petco shopping, to a Starbucks pup cup, exploring the park, and the coziness of an NYC apartment, Gino is looking for someone for him to love and someone to love him back. He is energetic, but, also enjoys taking a nap and receiving belly rubs after a long day at the park. Gino is an incredibly great navigator- he enjoys long car rides where he can pop his head out the window but also sit calmly in the back seat being present with you.

Bobo - the adorabo pit-bo.
Adopted from Manhattan ACC over 2 years ago, Bobo spends his days lounging around the house in his 3 beds, sunbathing in his yard, and staring at his humans with big booboo eyes for food.
He loves going on his sniffari walks, gathering and spreading the latest gossip in his neighborhood.
He has won the hearts of many, befriending everyone he meets. His love is unstoppabo.
