Despite having insurance, Pete’s medical expenses alone are projected to be substantial, reaching into six figures. As Pete’s care is based in Houston, there are expenses for travel, accommodations, transportation, and more. Upon completion of active treatment, he’ll have to travel back and forth between Houston and Chicagoland every few weeks for scans and follow-up appointments. With Tracy’s six months of chemotherapy having started in April 2024 followed by surgery in the fall, we anticipate that our financial picture will be challenging.
