Hi everyone! We'll be meeting with the surgeon at 7am for a consult which could potentially lead to a same-day surgery.
The good news is the biopsies came back negative 👏 Potato has been feeling better and much more like himself. We're glad he's been eating again too but he continues to have bad p**ps, bloating and acid reflux.
The surgery isn't easy but it also isn't high risk although "It's complicated in that there are nuances". Basically the exit of his stomach is like the pointy part of the letter V and the surgery aims to turn the exit into the round part of the letter U. It's a two day recovery in the hospital so they can monitor him for complications.
There is still general risk with the surgery cuz he's older, is a shih tzu (narrower airway) and has a mild heart murmur. But we also don't want him to be miserable and constantly having these horrible p**ps, bloating and chronic vomiting which can impact his organs especially since he already has kidney and liver issues due to Cushing's disease.
We'll keep you all posted after the consult about next steps. Thank you all for your continued love, we appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. We know this little fluffy tater tot means a lot to you too 💕
