FREE CAT HOUSES AVAILABLE!!
Please stop by the shelter during open hours to get yours!

Each fall, volunteers and staff from Faithful Friends gather together to build shelters for community cats.
The houses are constructed using storage tubs, insulation, and straw.

This simple but effective solution keeps community cats safe and warm during the winter months. Instructions are provided
with each cat house so that caretakers know how to best place them within the colony area and maintain them.

Please support this effort to keep community cats safe and warm this winter.
You can do this by making a donation of $40 (the cost to produce one cat house). https://faithfulfriends.us/donate/donate-give-now/
They are provided to the colony caretakers at NO CHARGE.

DPH is advising residents who live near Delaware Park Boulevard in Wilmington that a skunk has tested positive for rabies.

The skunk involved was sent to DPH Laboratory, where testing confirmed the animal had rabies.

Bob Seger had walked into a small Detroit shelter that was only 48 hours from closing its doors forever. The bills had piled up, the animals were on the verge of being taken away, and hope was nearly gone.

The 79-year-old rock legend didn't bring cameras, press, or attention. He simply knelt beside Buddy, a frail 12-year-old shepherd mix who had been left behind too many times. For several minutes, he sat quietly, stroking Buddy's fur and whispering to him.

Then Seger stood, looked at the overwhelmed shelter owner, and asked softly:
β€œHow many dogs are leaving?”

β€œThirty-two,” came the reply.

Seger nodded and declared:
β€œThen thirty-two lives are worth saving.”

Within hours, he bought the shelter outright. The very next day, trucks pulled in carrying fresh food, new bedding, toys, and medicine. Above every kennel, a new sign reads:
β€œSafe at last β€” thanks to Bob Seger.”

And Buddy? Bob Seger took him home.
β€œHe’s waited long enough,” Seger said with a smile. β€œNow it’s my turn to wait for him.”

In that moment, the man who gave America its soundtrack gave 32 forgotten souls a future β€” proving once more that his greatest legacy is not just his music, but his heart.
