I was just contacted by a gentleman named Kyle who, on Friday, has found an all white female German Shepherd, about 4 years old. He and his wife took the girl to the vet for care. If you know anyone who has lost such a dog, you can contact Kyle at 508 933 - 0971. The shelter would not take the dog, saying they are at capacity and that by Monday 5 pm Kyle will have had the dog for 3 days which made him the legal owner. However,
one of those days was Sunday when the shelter was closed.

Did you know that it's not against federal law to use caustic chemicals to burn a horse's legs and flesh, or to use chains and heavy, stacked horseshoes, all to force them to perform an unnatural, high-stepping gait in competition? This barbaric practice, known as soring, inflicts immense suffering on horses. Despite the horrors, trainers are too often rewarded for this type of performance. It's time to put an end to this cruelty.

Thankfully, there is hope on the horizon. The Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act is a crucial bill that would ban the use of devices integral to these cruel soring practices, end the failed system of industry self-policing, strengthen penalties, and make other reforms to finally end this abuse once and for all. This critical bill has just been reintroduced in the Senate so it’s vital that you speak up now. Tell your senators and representative today to support the PAST Act to prevent cruelty!

PLEASE READ: Horse drawn carriages are cruelty to animals.
Calls and emails are needed to the Atlanta City Council to urge a ban on the abusive and archaic practice of horse-drawn carriages! Council Member Lilianna Bakhtiari is spearheading the ban but needs the City Council to allocate funds in the upcoming budget discussions to buy out existing Atlanta carriage horse licenses. Because of contracts, the buyout is the only way to guarantee a permanent ban on horse-drawn carriages.

Call and email even if you are not an Atlanta resident; city officials care about tourist money. Let the City Council know you don't want to visit Atlanta and see horses suffering in the streets.

The same guy who was responsible for numerous Animal Welfare Act violations will be the CEO of this facility!!!! Please take action!!!

Tell Officials to Reject a Proposed Monkey Breeding Facility in Bainbridge, Georgia
A proposed monkey breeding facility in Bainbridge, Georgia, would house up to 30,000 long-tailed macaque mothers and babies bred to be used as experimental test subjects. We need your help to urge officials to oppose this facility!

The CEO of the company behind the proposed monkey warehouse is the former chief operating officer of Envigo, the company at the center of a Department of Justice investigation and lawsuit stemming from shocking Animal Welfare Act violations at their facility in Virginia where thousands of dogs were bred for experiments. In 2022, the Humane Society of the United States removed nearly 4,000 beagles and the facility was ultimately closed.

Like dogs, monkeys are intelligent, inquisitive animals, whose lives are filled with fear, loneliness and pain when they are bred and used for experimentation. Experiments on monkeys have been shown to be unreliable and misleading when attempting to understand diseases in humans and safety of treatments, resulting in many drugs failing in human trials. Instead of spending millions of taxpayer dollars on monkey breeding, we should be investing in non-animal technologies that are based on human biology, cells and tissues.
