🎄✨ Christmas is Coming to Wild Hope! ✨🎄

We know many families in our community are feeling the pressure of the holiday season, and we want to do our part to help. This year, Wild Hope Inc. is offering FREE horse interactions and possibly a free lesson or two for any child in the area!

Children ages 4-18 are welcome to take advantage of this opportunity. Parents, you can reach out to us to receive a fun voucher that can be used at any time. Whether it’s grooming, playing, or even a first riding lesson, we want to bring some joy and holiday magic to your family.

We know this doesn’t solve everything, but we hope it can bring a little happiness to your holidays. Let’s spread love and kindness this Christmas season!

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who have served our country. At Wild Hope Inc., we recognize the sacrifices veterans have made to protect our freedom and are deeply grateful for their courage, resilience, and dedication. We are privileged to work with veterans through our therapeutic horsemanship program, providing a place of healing, peace, and growth alongside our incredible mustangs.

Horses have a unique way of understanding and connecting with people, offering comfort and strength. To the veterans in our program and beyond, we salute you for your strength and are here to support you on every step of your journey.

This Veterans Day, we encourage our community to reach out, give back, and remember those who served. Thank you, veterans, for your service and sacrifice.

🌟 Monday Mission with Wild Hope Inc.! 🌟

This week, our equine team is working hard to reach new milestones, and we’re thrilled to share our goals:

🐴 Honor – She’s starting an exciting new chapter, learning how to take a bit and beginning to trot. Big steps for this amazing mare!

🐴 Devon – This week, Devon will continue mastering the basics, focusing on walking on a lead rope and practicing lunging.

🐴 Onora – Our patient Onora is working on slowing her walk to accommodate different walkers. Her calm, steady progress makes her a valuable partner.

🐴 Chance – To strengthen his top line, Chance is learning to lower his head while lunging. Building strength and focus one step at a time!

🐴 Camaro – Camaro’s goal this week is to get comfortable with wearing a halter. We’re excited to see him becoming more confident!

🐴 Fun Fact Friday! 🐴

Did you know that horses have nearly 360-degree vision? Thanks to the placement of their eyes on the sides of their heads, horses can see almost all around them, which helps them stay aware of potential threats in the wild. The only blind spots they have are directly in front of their noses and directly behind their tails.

This amazing vision makes our equine friends especially tuned in to their surroundings, which is one of the reasons they’re such incredible partners in our therapeutic programs. They’re always watching out for their environment—and for us, too!

Big news from Wild Hope Inc.! Today, Honor faced her fear of the hose – and ended up loving it! At first, she eyed it cautiously, probably thinking it was out to get her. But after a few seconds, our brave girl decided it might be worth a closer look. She stuck her head right into the stream and started drinking, embracing the moment! Honor keeps surprising us with her courage and curiosity every day. We couldn’t be prouder of her progress. Stay tuned for more of her journey!

to March 19, 2022, when I brought Onora into my life. 🐴❤️

From a spirited wild horse to the gentle giant she is today, Onora has come so far in the last (almost) three years. Watching her transformation has been one of the most rewarding experiences – from a mare who wasn’t too keen on little ones to the sweetest horse who now adores every child she meets.

Onora has not only impacted my life deeply but has also brought so much love and comfort to everyone involved with Wild Hope. She’ll always hold a special place in my heart as my favorite addition. Here’s to this incredible girl and all the lives she continues to touch! 💫

When we start our mustangs under saddle here at Wild Hope Inc., we always prioritize their comfort and understanding. Our process begins with someone leading the horse while a rider is in the saddle. This gives our mustangs the reassurance of a familiar presence beside them, creating a calm environment where they can focus on learning.

As the horse gets comfortable, we gradually introduce gentle rein and leg pressure while still being led. This approach allows the mustang to connect these new cues with familiar guidance, building a foundation of trust and understanding. By moving at the horse’s pace, we help them develop confidence in their new role, step by step.

At Wild Hope Inc., we’re committed to bringing hope and healing through the power of horses. Our nonprofit offers free therapeutic riding and groundwork for veterans and individuals with disabilities, providing a safe and supportive space for all. Through equine therapy, we aim to combat veteran su***de and support those who have experienced trauma, including those with PTSD. We also offer English and Western riding lessons for individuals of all abilities.

We’re beyond grateful for the incredible volunteers who go above and beyond to make sessions like these possible. Watching Honor step into her role so effortlessly has been truly inspiring. She’s taken to this lifestyle faster than we could have imagined, showing such an easy-going spirit and willingness to connect.

Monday Mission: Goals for the Week!

We have some exciting goals this week at Wild Hope Inc. as our horses continue their journey:

- Devon: Working on confidently walking on a lead line—she’s making great progress!
- Honor: Focusing on her steering and footwork to add a little pep to her step!
- Onora: Doubling her treats for extra sessions this week (her request, of course!).
- Chance: Starting his journey to join sessions by learning to stay calm while lunging.
- Camaro: Practicing human interactions—even when treats aren’t around.

We’re thrilled to work toward these goals and can’t wait to share updates. Stay tuned!

Meet Wild Hope’s beloved gentle giant, Onora! Standing tall at 17.1 hands high, this off-the-track Thoroughbred has found a new calling as a therapy horse with us. Her registered name, “Fav By The Way,” suits her perfectly because she’s truly a favorite around here! Onora absolutely loves being pampered and will happily stand for hours soaking up all the pets and attention she can get.

Her favorite part of the day? Hands down, it’s when the kids come by to feed her hay and smother her with love. There’s nothing she enjoys more than the gentle touch of little hands, and her calm, kind nature makes her an ideal companion for all our participants. We’re so grateful to have Onora as part of the Wild Hope family, sharing her gentle spirit with everyone she meets. 🐴💛
