I was driving to Lexington County SC, to pay my late fiancé's truck taxes. I noticed a lot of livestock trailers and read the sign, it was a livestock auction. Apparently it is only open on Mondays, I was unable to go to pay his taxes on Friday. I could almost hear my fiance telling me to stop in. We have many rescue animals and since he passed there has been financial. But with this heart tug from him, I stopped anyway. My thought was "there won't be anything there I could take home anyway" I didn't have a trailer.....

There was one lone calf there. The "head calves" and small animals are purchased earlier in the day apparently. I didn't arrive until about 2pm, this little guy had been bought for veal. I knew the chances were slim he'd get to be saved. As I was about to leave I asked the woman at the front if she knew the man who purchased him. Luck would have it that she did, she was able to get his phone number and he let me pay off his $50 bale money. I couldn't have spent more than that.

Another totally awesome point in today's miracle is that there happened to be a vet's office right next door. Hoof and Paw veterinary had a cancelation, they told me to bring him right in.( I couldn't have brought a sick animal to the rest of my crew) He got a good look over and deemed to be as healthy as a few day old calf could be without momma.

I went to tractor supply and purchased everything he'll need to get started. Our rescue farm is called CORA- Community Organization Rescuing Animals, in Ninety-six SC. This new edition is the second animal that was intended for meat on our farm. We have a land cruiser pig named Oink too. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. His milk replacement isn't cheap. It's actually more expensive than he was.
Your love, prayers and kind words are especially appreciated.

💗🙏🧘‍♀️🌱🌻

Update: he bloated last night. After some quick intervention he is bright happy and alert today. A special thanks to his vegan friends getting the word out. There is a gofund me set up for him. We are working closely with Hoof and Paw veterinary clinic.

Charlie and I feel wrapped in all of your love and prayers. Her recovery after losing twin lambs is an exhausting journey. Your kindness and generosity are affirmations we are never alone.

Although she is nibbling at feed and hay, Charlie is obviously depressed. Should anyone have an orphan goat or lamb nearby we would love to attempt having her feed them. Like humans, she needs a purpose now that her two are gone. We believe in paying it forward...

I am eternally grateful to be sober for the hard times such as this. In sobriety I may better understand what God's will is presently. Sober I can put in the work. For many years I had that completely backwards. Trying to "survive" the hard times with more drinks made me incapable of putting in effort and hard work. God bless you all for believing in me, even when I couldn't. I cherish your time, prayers, and love.
