A LOT of you already know me. I’m you’re dog groomer in Noblesville, IN. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Tobey, I’m 33 years old, I have two amazing little girls and the best husband a gal could ask for. I was born, raised, and now raise my own children here in Noblesville. I’m also a very dedicated, hard-working dog groomer that has catered to Noblesville along with surrounding towns here in Hamilton County for many years now.
This year for our annual break between Christmas and New Year’s, my husband and I decided we would treat ourselves and head down south for the New Year’s. Everything was going great until the early hours of the 1st. Around 1:30am on New Years Day we decided after setting off fireworks on the beach that we were going to rent motorized standup scooters and drive them up and down the strip. We realized within the first 10 minutes of renting them that he, nor I, had ANY business on them. Spoiler alert: We were right. We had literally JUST decided we weren’t cut out for scooters, turned around to take them back to their designated spots (literally 2 doors down from our hotel), and boom! My scooter malfunctioned, I completely lost control, and went flying off of mine. I broke my fall with my right arm. Thus shattering my wrist. They were able to set it and put a splint on it, but they also informed me that I’d require surgery when I got home.
This past Monday morning I had to go in for reconstructive surgery on my right wrist. Evening went well, but the doctor said that I am looking at 6 to 8 weeks minimum of recovery from surgery. Beyond that, I will require physical therapy. And that it could be 6 to 12 months before I regain full function of my right wrist.
That said, I wanted to take a moment to thank every one of my clients for their years of long term support. For so long now I’ve catered to this town and your pups, taking so much pride in my work, and loving your fur babies just as if they were my own. But please know, THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY. I PROMISE I will be back. The second the doctor says I am cleared to go back to work. But I know a lot of you are going to start wondering where I’m at. Between not seeing me anymore at the salon, or not seeing my posts in the chatter on Small Business Friday. So I wanted to personally reach out.
For those of you who know me, even as clients, know that I’m a VERY PROUD person who NEVER asks for help. But after much convincing done by family, friends, and even doctors, I have finally decided (very reluctantly) to put up a GoFundMe. If anyone happens to be interested in donating. And even if the only thing you can do is share that link, that still helps. You never know who’s willing to donate.
All in all, this is only temporary. I will be back, and in the meantime, I can personally assure you that anyone of the girls at the salon, or from my home based studio who fills in for me during my absence will not let you down. I work with an amazing group of girls. I promise, your kiddos are in great hands. And I will be back. If anyone has further questions, feel free to reach out to me privately. Or even in the comments. I’m happy to answer any questions that anyone may have regarding my injuries, my surgery, grooming, the gals that you’re booked with who are filling in for me, anything at all. Just get a hold of me.
Thank you guys for everything, and until I see you guys again, give all the fur babies an extra head scratch for me. 🐾
May you all have a blessed weekend. 🙏🏻
