We offer beginner horse riding lessons all year long. We will be outside unless the weather is bad and then we have a round pin to work on groundwork. Our instructor is Bobbi Milam who has 40+ years of experience. Bobbi prefers to have students 10 years or older. We have one hour private lessons. Meet our riding instructor Bobbi. In her own words…
My name is Bobbi and I’m the main/original Koteewi riding instructor. I took my first riding lesson when I was in my mid 20’s, although I don’t remember a time I wasn't obsessed with horses. For the last 40+ years horses have defined my life. I’ve participated in many of the English disciplines specializing in Dressage and have been blessed to have owned and ridden a number wonderful horses, several to regional and national awards.

I was lucky enough to board with an endurance rider early in my horse journey and she introduced me to trail riding. I’ve always loved getting out on the trails and regularly incorporate trail rides in my riding lessons.

Meet our trail guide, assistant manager, substitute riding lesson instructor, and CTE teacher Katelyn. In her own words…

I fell in love with horses about six years ago, and that passion led me to become a PATH CTRI instructor, mentor, and CHA IRD instructor. Since then, I’ve spent six years teaching riders of all ages and abilities, along with working as a volunteer manager, instructor mentor, and site manager at a therapeutic riding facility.

I love mules, enjoy riding, and helping with training new horses that come onto the property. Outside of Koteewi, I’m a full-time massage therapist with my own business—my love for massaging horses is what actually what sparked my passion for learning to massage people.

Working at Koteewi Trails & Stables lets me continue sharing the power of the horse. Helping others grow in their horsemanship and discover their own connection with these incredible animals is something I’m grateful to be part of every day.

Meet our trail guide Stacey. In her own words…

Hello. My name is Stacey Tyree. I live in Waldron with my husband and we have three beautiful daughters.

My love of horses started when I was in the womb! I have pictures of being on a horse before I was able to walk. We never had horses growing up but my uncle did. I bought my first horse at 27 and I’ve been living the dream ever since. My three daughters all showed horses in 4H, showing English and western and doing contesting for fun. My youngest even did some eventing.

I’ve shown at open shows in western pleasure and showmanship. I’ve also dabbled in team sorting, western dressage, and cowboy challenges. We’ve rode in parades and do a lot of trail riding.

I work from time to time being a substitute teacher and wanted something more to do and that’s when I came across the wrangler position. What better way to spend your time doing what you love and sharing that love with others!! I’ve always loved sharing my horses with others and now I get to broaden that working at Ben’s Ranch. I’ve fallen in love with the people, horses, and the work they do with struggling teens.

Meet our trail guide Crissy . In her own words…

Hi, I'm Crissy Dubbels and I am a Wrangler at Koteewi Stable and Trails. I have always loved horses and my favorite way to spend the day is in the saddle! Working at Koteewi Stable and Trails has been a great way for me to share my passion for horses with others. I enjoy teaching guests about horses and helping them to feel comfortable around them. My favorite part of the job is taking guests out on trail rides, especially guests who are experiencing their first ride!

Away from the barn, I can be found riding and taking care of my own horses, teaching first grade, or cheering on my alma mater, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish!
