Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center has teamed up with Joshua Wilborne - Arena Real Estate to help senior dogs find the second chances they deserve!

Through March Matchness, Joshua is doubling the impact of FNACC’s Golden Paws program, which already reduces adoption fees for dogs 7 and older to just $35. Thanks to his generosity, all Golden Paws senior dog adoptions are now *fully covered* while funds last! 🐾

FNACC will also continue to support senior adoptions for all pets at NACC, ensuring that:

•Senior cats over 7 years old have a reduced adoption fee of $35

•Senior adopters over 65 can adopt any pet for just $35

•Senior adopters who adopt a senior pet (7 years and older) will have their adoption fee fully covered

Through March Matchness, Joshua is doubling the impact of FNACC’s Golden Paws program—meaning all adoption fees for senior dogs (7+) are now fully covered while funds last!

Another Successful Spay & Neuter Clinic! 🐾This month’s PETA spay/neuter clinic, sponsored by Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center, provided essential care to 30 Norfolk pets, ensuring a healthier future for both animals and our community.

✅ Spay & Neuter Surgeries:
🐶 3 dog neuters & 5 dog spays
🐱 12 cat neuters & 10 cat spays

✅ Additional Services Provided:
🩺 21 rabies vaccines
📍 22 microchips

Thanks to generous donations, we covered the cost of all surgeries! Preventing pet overpopulation and providing vital veterinary care wouldn’t be possible without your support.

Olivia is stealing hearts at Norfolk Animal Care Center ❤️FNACC supporter, Kiki, shared their experience meeting her:

“I met Olivia at NACC today, and she is such a sweet dog. She walks well on a loose leash—so well that even my 10-year-old handled her easily! She rides calmly in the car, loves treats, and already knows ‘sit.’ She may do best as the only dog or with a calm companion. She seems to like cats but may be tempted to chase them. Olivia would make a wonderful companion for the right home.”

We are ready for our pet pantry stop TOMORROW Saturday 3/8/2025 from 12-2pm at the Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch Library at 111 W. Ocean View Avenue Norfolk, VA.
This resource is available to pet owners facing hardship and financial challenges who may have to make a hard choice between feeding their families or feeding their pet. Our goal is to make it possible for pets to stay in a loving home by providing temporary food assistance. Please keep in mind that we strive to bring enough food for everyone that attends, however at times we may run out early. In that case, NACC staff will update the Norfolk Animal Care Center's Facebook & Instagram () and leave the location early.

Update: BB was adopted!

BB is still waiting for someone to fall in love with her ❤️ A volunteer took her out to play this week and shares that BB is smart, social, and full of personality. She’s a total people pup, loves belly rubs, and thrives on being the center of attention.

BB is Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center's Shelter Star this month and her adoption fee is fully sponsored 🎉

BB is dog-social and has lived with other dogs, so she’ll fit right in with your furry family members.

Tavia, short for Octavia, is 'just a little baby' available for adoption at Norfolk Animal Care Center. She was surrendered by her family who loved her very much but was no longer able to care for her. She’s 7 years old. Super sweet, beautiful, and so cool. Loves a good tennis ball and rolling in the grass. Her adoption fee is waived this month through March Matchness at NACC!
