This month’s PETA spay/neuter clinic, sponsored by Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center, was a big success! 🐾 27 cats and dogs from Norfolk came out to get spayed or neutered, helping to prevent pet overpopulation and ensuring healthier, happier lives for these animals.

Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to cover the costs of all the surgeries! Additionally, 25 pets received microchips (the other 2 were already chipped), and 20 pets received rabies vaccinations (the rest were already up to date).

Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center (FNACC) partners with PETA to offer free spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats monthly. Norfolk residents can schedule an appointment for their pet(s) on the second Wednesday of each month. FNACC also covers the cost of a Rabies vaccine and Microchip!

Help us Stuff the Bus and stock the shelves of our Pet Pantry! Waggin' Wheels will be parked in front of Norfolk Animal Care Center on Saturday, January 25 for this drive-up, drop-off donation drive.

Here's what we need the most:
-Dog and cat food
-Wet or dry
-Any brand, any size, any flavor
-Treats too!
-Must be unopened

We're also happy to accept donations of any kind!
All you have to do is drive-up and drop-off during this Stuff the Bus event. Our staff and volunteers will be on hand to graciously accept - you don't even need to get out of the car!

About the Pet Pantry:
Our Pet Pantry is located at the Norfolk Animal Care Center and helps feed over a thousand pets a month. Once a month, our Pet Pantry goes mobile to bring food, support and resources right into the neighborhoods. 🐾 Foster Feature: Meet Maggie! 🐾

Maggie is an 8-year-old sweetheart and a proud participant in Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center's Golden Paws adoption program, which means her adoption is reduced to just $35!

🌟 Why she’s amazing:
- Maggie is super affectionate and expressive, complete with her adorable growl/yowl/beagle howl when she's excited or playful.
- She’s a cuddle queen who loves leaning in for pets, putting her paws on your lap, and sharing her love.
- She’s amazing on a leash and adores long walks. No pulling here—just pure strolling bliss!
- Maggie is great in the car and is a champ at bedtime, snuggling up with her foster family and their cats every night.
- Those epic ears and the bonus? No shedding!

🐕 Maggie’s foster family shares that she is still working on making new doggy friends, but she’s neutral to positive with cats and always excited to meet people.

Maggie is currently on Apoquel, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, microchipped, and will be spayed prior to adoption! We love seeing adopted pet updates! Caspy (formerly Kash) was adopted in November from Norfolk Animal Care Center through Friends of NACC’s Golden Paws adoption program. This program helps senior pets find loving homes with a reduced adoption fee. His new family says he’s settling in perfectly and they are so happy they found each other 💕 Check out these adorable photos of him enjoying his first Christmas and snow day ☃️
