Homeless animals like Wabi Sabi need you this . Wabi Sabi arrived at Norfolk Animal Care Center as a stray, and shortly after, the veterinary team discovered a dangerous bowel blockage. He was rushed to emergency care, and Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center stepped in to cover the cost of his $3,800 surgery.

Now on the road to recovery, Wabi Sabi has been transferred to a local rescue where he can heal before continuing his journey to a loving home.

Urgent: construction begins on Monday! Norfolk Animal Care Center is in immediate need of dog foster homes while the shelter undergoes repairs from December 1st through the 15th.

Every home that steps up makes a lifesaving impact.

Homes without resident dogs, or homes able to safely separate pets, are needed for several dogs currently receiving treatment for upper respiratory infections who need a quiet, comfortable space to recover.

For those able to help longer, support is especially needed between December 1–15, when construction is scheduled at the shelter and the goal is to have as few dogs in the building as possible.

King, a sweet and silly Boxer mix, had a great time hanging with the crew at Norfolk Fire-Rescue Station 14 as the First Responder for a Day! 🚒🧑‍🚒🔥

He made himself right at home, happily introducing himself to everyone while exploring the station, known as the Norview Nuthouse - the busiest station in Norfolk. 🥜🏠👀👅

He learned that Station 14's crew handles special operations from high-speed roadway incidents to water rescues, confined spaces, and structural collapses.

If you want to foster longer or prefer to foster between holidays, NACC has planned construction from Dec 1-15 and would love for as few dogs as possible to be in shelter at that time.
