The Norfolk Animal Care Center is bringing free pet food to Pretlow Library in Norfolk today Saturday, September 13th from 12p-2pm!

Pet food is available while supplies last, so be sure to check NACC’s Facebook & Instagram for updates or early closings.

This is Journey. At Norfolk Animal Care Center, he was so shy he spent most of his time hiding—no one got to see the sweet, affectionate cat he truly is.

So he went to foster care… and everything changed!

Now that he feels safe, Journey loves being near people, playing with wand toys and bird watching.

He does great with other calm cats, and with the right slow introduction, a gentle dog might be a good match too.

All he needed was a quiet place and a little patience to come out of his shell.

Journey is available for adoption now through the Norfolk Animal Care Center. Call or email to schedule a meet and greet today.

Looking for a loyal sidekick with a heart of gold? Meet Goldie, waiting for you at Norfolk Animal Care Center.

She’s a 4-year-old sweetheart who was surrendered when her family could no longer care for her. They say she’s a total lovebug—cuddles, kisses, and a heart of gold. 💛

Goldie’s lived with kids and other dogs, and she’s at that perfect age: plenty of energy to play, show off how smart she is and also happy to just hang out next to you.

You can meet Goldie at Norfolk Animal Care Center, or give her a break from the shelter with a NACC Pack Adventure for the day, or a Slumber Pack for up to 72 hours. 🐾

Meet Blaze, an 8-year-old pup at Norfolk Animal Care Center who still has so many years and so much love to share. 💛 Because let’s be honest, they’re forever puppies in our hearts! Blaze lights up with that puppy energy anytime you hand him a squeaky toy, proving age is just a number. 🐾

He’s also a proud member of the Golden Paws Adoption Program, making his adoption fee reduced and future even brighter. ✨

Golden Paws Adoption Program:

🐾 Senior pets over seven years of age and older are just $35 for any age adopter.
🐾 Senior adopters over the age of 65 and older can adopt a pet of any age for just $35.
🐾 Senior adopters may adopt a senior pet at no cost.

Foster Friday: Meet Venus! This 1-year-old sweetheart from Norfolk Animal Care Center is currently thriving in foster care. Her foster shares, "She’s so affectionate and sweet, loves to cuddle, and is both crate trained and house trained. She does great with kids and other dogs! She really has the sweetest personality.”💕

The foster program gives pets like Venus the chance to shine outside of the shelter while they wait for their forever homes. Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center is proud to support this program, helping provide supplies and resources so fosters can focus on giving love.

Yuki Tsukumo (aka Yuki) is one of only four special grade jujutsu sorcerers. Yuki is a nonchalant and playful pup who always remains confident and high-energy. She is caring, anxious at times, outspoken, and completely unafraid to speak her mind at any moment. Even in the most serious situations, Yuki's bright and lax attitude remain intact. Yuki has been known to do well in a home with cats, children with dog manners, and other dogs. They did note that once she bonds to you, that bond is unbreakable and she stresses when she is alone.
