Barney the MontCo DAO Comfort Dog Barney is the new Courthouse Comfort Dog for the Montgomery County, Pa., District Attorney’s Office.

He plays a vital role in supporting victims and witnesses of crime, especially children, as they navigate the criminal justice process.

Today is Barney's one-month mark working in our office, and what a month it's been! From providing comfort and companionship to brightening everyone's day, Barney has quickly become an integral part of our team 🐾

In his one-month period, he had his first jury trial, attended multiple witness prep meetings and preliminary hearings and supported victims, witnesses and office staff!

Thank you to everyone who has helped make Barney's first month so special! 💙💛

On Sunday, Barney graduated from the courthouse companion training program at Canine Partners for Life! We are incredibly proud of his hard work and dedication throughout the program and Barney is now ready to assist and make a positive impact in and out of our courtrooms!

End-of-Day Updates on Barney's First Day: He's made even more connections around the office, including Judge Rothstein and took a field trip across the street to One Montgomery Plaza to visit some detectives! 🐾
