The cooler weather is making everyone a little spicy. He did really for only his second ride!
This horse is way too cool for being only 2!! 🥰🥰 #liberty #2yearsold #horsetraining
He is going to be an awesome horse!!
Savvy is a mare I got back in 2020. She was going blind at the time and we are pretty positive she is fully blind now. I was told she was used for games before she started going blind. You could tell by all the energy, she really liked speed events. She seemed to enjoy being worked with, so I continued to do so.
I basically restarted her from the ground up. Our biggest hurdle was to learn to trust each other. We definitely have each others trust now. We have learned so much together and have worked so hard. I am so proud of this horse. She has improved a lot. We both have. I love growing and learning with her. I am excited for our future together!
Lately, I have been getting my two horses ready for show season and working with this guy! Enzo might have a big year ahead of him. We have been focusing on moving to pressure and paying attention to body language. He would either lose focus really quick or think it’s ok to try to do some playful moves around me. He has gotten a lot better listening to my body language and trusting me.
I’m looking to start giving lessons on my gelding and in general. I recently gave a lesson to my 10-year-old cousin on him. I also have given quite a few lessons before. We used to board at a barn and gave a couple of lessons there and I have mainly given lessons to my sisters on their horses. This gelding is coming into a semiretired life but loves to still go out and do stuff. If you are interested in some lessons, just give me a PM.
Coolest trick to teach your horse!!
I recently went to a clinic with Amanda Rae and learned a few things. One concept is that for your horse to be halter broke, they need to be able to walk, trot, and canter in a halter. To be able to do all three gaits, you need to pony that colt. This is my lovely old man, Taz, who loves teaching other horses. He is ponying around my yearling, Enzo, who did very well with this concept.
Here’s how the process of getting on went!
Trailering has become too easy for her. She loaded right in the second time, didn’t even have to ask her.
Learning what a bath is. We learned that the rainbow technique works the best.
