Gus Gus the Argus monitor exploring his new 7 foot enclosure!

Monitors are HIGHLY intelligent reptiles and have quite the personality!! Argus monitors are also known as the "Yellow Spotted monitor" found in Australia and New Guinea!
Females are about 3ft and males can reach 4-5ft

They are mostly terrestrial( they spend a great deal of time on the ground). This species is an avid digger and will dig large burrows or take over an already existing burrow, where they spend a sizable portion of their time, but they will eagerly forage in trees and in the water. Argus monitors are quite fast and will run up to 100 meters away to the nearest tree or burrow when they are chased!

They are known to "tripod" where they stand up on Their back legs and are supported by their strong meaty tail!

Not for beginners(their bites can pack a punch and are very flighty) but definitely can be tamed with consistency and effort and are the smartest coolest lizards around!

Fun fact: Most Argus monitors are captive bread and brought to the states to control the cane toad population and reduce the spread of their poison infestation!

Check out this Ivory Northern Blue Tongue Skink!! What a beauty!! This Rare Morph will lose all the yellow tones as it matures and become all white as an adult!

Blue tongues can reach upwards to 24" long, but Don't require a high tank, they like to burrow so they do require appropriate substrate with hiding spots!

Here at Reptile Mart we dont just sell reptiles! We help people with their reptiles any way we can, regardles if it came from us or not! Yes we would like to sell people OUR reptiles, but at the end of the day we are able to make a living off of a hobby that we love! I know for us throughout the years if we weren't spending money with somebody, we could not get any help or anybody to take the time to share their knowledge! That's not us! We always do whatever we can to help anybody that has a reptile! We did a lot of trial and error over the years and we hope by sharing our experience we can save some people the error part of raising reptiles! So please stop in and say hi!
