I was supposed to have a big dog family today, but they had something unanticipated come up, so today is national sugar cookie day with Luke Cage!

An embarrassing amount of hair came off of him. Like, I know why he's been a bit itchy & my baseboards look like the wild west with black tumbleweeds rolling around.

Not pictured is Bailey who got his nails done & had time to harass Luke for a bit afterwards😁

I'll be out of service with a couple exceptions through the weekend to celebrate an amazing friend, so it might be a little slow around here as far as dog pics go until next week. Still want you guys to keep an eye out for a sweet announcement!!

I'm sharing Miss Addie today to show you that yes, I can give a haircut to a dog that lays down the whole time. It's not cute, but it's what she could handle! She's doing really good for 16!

I'm thankful for the friend that referred her to me because Addie's humans are amazing! Thank you guys for letting me take the time I needed with her🥰 They were happy with the results & that's all that matters😊

Another amazing head tilt from Huxley with his fresh haircut! He was so excited when we got done (as usual), but paused for a couple seconds to give me a few decent pics😊

Not pictured from today is Bear, who just needed a quick nail grind! He's such a good boy! Maybe I'll think to grab a pic next time....maybe🤣

The background is courtesy of the sky over my very own head! I ran some errands then I used the rest of the afternoon to enjoy pool time🌞 The work day isn't over though! I still need to clean equipment, tighten the bolts on my table (Huxley's kiddo pointed out that it was wobbly so I told him I'd get on it), prep for tomorrow, and get the towels in the dryer at least. We can fold them tomorrow, right?

Bawnya was coming in hot with the head tilt today!!! She & Dougal both got haircuts.

He looks sad, but he's not. He wanted to cuddle. Dougal's fluffy legs had to go, which I totally understand. Keeping a dog fluffy & long takes daily work to brush & comb those long spots. I'm happy to save his humans some time😊 He's still just as precious!!💜

His humans had to leave him with family for a bit between my visits & the family member reported that he had a lot of personality. That's certainly a nice way to put it! This little dude is all energy all the time😁

It's Brock!!! Anybody else surprised? I'm not! I knew his mom could handle the extra training to iron out some of his anxiety issues. While he's still a work in progress, he'll get there soon! I believe in both of them & I'm so proud of his mom for sticking with him. He's certainly stuck to her. Certified Velcro dog😁

I can hear it now: "But I thought you weren't taking any new big dogs!" This decision was made with lots of care. I'm still in charge of this whole operation (I think🤣). I make exceptions for existing clients with phenomenally behaved larger dogs. Brock is extra chill in the tub! There are other factors that went into deciding to keep him & his people on my schedule, so don't go out & buy a big doodle or something like that thinking I'll give you a pass........

I still have to look out for my own physical health. Now that he's added to the rotation, big dogs are spaced well enough apart to allow me time to recover. But I shouldn't have to explain any of that. Thanks to all my friends for respecting my limits so I can keep doing what I love for as long as possible😊

Today started with Charlie. He needed to be lured from under the bed to get started, but he enjoyed his bath & cuddle time to dry off! I certainly enjoy cuddle time too because it gives me time to chat with his mom. We had a lot to catch up on😊

Bailey & Dory are here to say "hi friends!" before their big move this weekend! We may only see them this one time, but they are certainly all set up for success in their new city! I gave their people plenty of going away info to take to their next groomer & vet...a small favor considering this is the home that gifted the vintage book to me😍 I promise, it will be cherished!

With that, Pretty Sweet Grooming Pride Pups 2025 comes to a close. While there's never a wrong time to celebrate pride, it's been fun to give everybody pride themed photos🌈
