Your time is valuable, and loose leash walking doesn’t have to take months to achieve!!
-
There is nuance to be considered, but a basic loose leash walk is not as impossible as you may think. Leash manners is one of the fundamental skills that we’ve taught and continue to teach tons of dogs on a daily basis, and your dog would be no different!

Ah yes, the long debated crate wars. The truth is, like any tool, the crate is what the handler makes it to be. A number of our dogs enjoy their crates and even actively seek them out, because we’ve conditioned them to find positivities and safety in their crates.
-
Ideally, the crate would be the equivalent of a bedroom to humans; it’s a safe place for your dog to feel secure and be able to decompress.
In our facility, we utilize the crate for training and play time rotations. After the dogs have had their enrichment and training, they are brought into their crate to wind down and rest before coming back out for another session!
-
So, why should you crate your dog?
💤 Sleep! Your dog will gain more restful sleep. Having that feeling of comforting containment can be a game changer for sleep.
🚷 Privacy! Believe it or not, dogs also enjoy some alone time. Just like us, they can get overstimulated by certain surroundings and often need a way to get away from it all
⚠️Emergencies! Emergency services are much more likely to rescue a contained, controlled dog in the case of a home disaster. They’re not likely to risk their own safety to chase a panicked loose dog.
-
You CAN and SHOULD condition your dog to find enjoyment in the crate! If you’re having trouble, you can follow our page for the best tips and tricks of how we got our dogs to run, not walk to their crates 🐕

Let's talk about it 🧐
-
Impulse control is the ability of a dog to control it's natural urges and desires. The purpose of impulse control is to keep dogs from performing a number of unwanted behaviors...
🍗Stealing food off the table
💨Running out the door
🐈Chasing after other animals
✋Blowing off commands
and many more.
-
How do you practice impulse control?
Impulse control exercises can be as simple as everyday structure in the home and out on walks. Having your dog sit and wait at doorways, walking controlled beside you, leave it practice, etc. No elaborate exercises, just patience and practice.

Though they have their similarities, the American Bulldog is not a “Pit Bull.” In fact, what many call “Pit Bulls” today are not actually true Pitties. The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is its own breed, however, its name became an umbrella term for most “blocky” headed dogs.
-
The most distinct traits between the APBT and the Bulldog are their face shapes; the APBT has a smaller, narrower skull with a longer snout, while the Bulldog has a broader head and shoulders with a shorter snout.
-
American Bulldogs belong to a group of dog breeds that we call Bully Breeds! This group consists of breeds such as the American Staffordshire Terrier, English Bulldog, French Bulldog, Bullmastiff, and a handful more.
Though they are not fully recognized by the AKC, they are working towards recognition, and it is recognized by other kennel clubs such as the UKC!
-
The original purpose behind creating the American Bulldog was for versatility in jobs on the farm. Their jobs consisted of catching and controlling livestock, guarding, and hunting.
