Happy Transfer/Transport Tail!!!

I wanted to be sure you heard the news about
Jiminy, the little terrier? who was surrendered to you folks after his elderly Mom had to go to a care facility.

He caught a ride to Colorado in a very nice airplane flown by a big hearted pilot and I picked him up from the plane and brought him home with me.

The very next day he got an application from someone looking for just the perfect fit for him. I took him out to meet them and they fell in love.

They adopted him on the spot. He now lives with a 66 year old lady who worked in health care her whole life and takes care of her 88 year old Uncle and her Mother who is also in her 80's. He and the Uncle play a game of who gets to the prime spot on the couch first. Jiminy just smiles all the time and his humans adore him.

Thanks to all of you who helped to make this possible.

Little Oliver is available for adoption. He was little too much for the adult cat in the home so now he is back waiting for a new family cuddle with.

Mama Scarlett and her young adult kiddos are still a bit shy, but given the chance, some time and lots of patience - they will love you forever. Once they get used to your routine, they will be all in your face and could possibly never leave you alone - eeevvveerrr.

Hazel is looking for a new home.

Hedgehogs make great pets for "night owls" as they are nocturnal but they are also not for the squeamish as they are insectivores and eat worms and crickets. They need a warm place away from drafts and human companions who have read up on their needs.

Texas heatwave is no joke and with summer festivities - we want everyone to be safe.

* * Make sure you know where your closest Veterinary ER or 24 hr Vet Clinics are but hopefully you will not need them.
* * If your pet is chipped, make sure you register microchip with the chip company - microchips do not automatically register themselves
* * Have a copy of your pets current medical and vaccinations in your car - vet clinics and local animal shelters will ask for them
* * If your pet becomes lost, physically go check nearby animal shelters as we are all currently full and would not be able to tell you over the phone if one of the 20 black cats in our shelter is yours - ONLY YOU know can identify your pet

While our focus is mainly on the safety of furry companions in our community, their hoomans also need to remember:
* * stay hydrated
* * take frequent breaks if you have to be outside
* * don't forget to check on your neighbors
