“Some people call me Snoopy, some call me Porkchop…
but do you know what I would love someone to call me even more?
"Mine” ❤️

Snoopy, A.K.A. "Porkchop," is a handsome five-year-old beagle boy looking for a home. He seems to like other dogs and had been known to follow his nose wherever it leads him in true hound fashion. Most importantly, he is ready to find a family who’ll call him theirs.

We’re open today from noon to 4:30, so please stop down to meet this cutie pie, you won't be sorry!

Today is the day! Please consider giving a gift that helps save more animals in our community.

This Giving Tuesday, you can help save lives.

So far in 2025, the Chenango SPCA has helped over 750 animals, and it was all made possible by our amazing community.

It takes a lot to get an animal through our front doors all the way to adoption-ready. Every animal adopted from our shelter is up to date on vaccines, receives parasite prevention, is tested for numerous ailments, and is spayed or neutered. The cost of providing this essential care continues to rise. This year, many of these animals arrived at our door with significant medical needs as well. Our staff got them the care they needed, nursed them back to health, and helped them find loving homes. Without donations from community members like you, we wouldn’t be able to provide this care.

As we look ahead to 2026, we are excited to continue growing our mission, expanding our impact, and helping as many animals as we can, but none of that is possible without you. This Giving Tuesday, please consider giving a gift .

For years, spring and summer were known as “kitten season.” But in animal rescue, we have learned that kitten season never truly ends, and we are seeing litter after litter of kittens being born into the fall and winter.

This is why spaying and neutering is so important. It saves lives before they are at risk and helps kittens like these get the chance they deserve.

We are open today and tomorrow from 12 to 4:30 PM, and so many little ones, along with their adult friends, are hoping to be seen.

Shouting out our longest-term resident, Mr. Deonne. 😽

“Stoic” truly is the perfect word for this sweet boy. He may not rush into your lap or weave through your legs when you first meet him, but don’t let that fool you. He is a very curious boy and has a playful spark hiding just beneath the surface. Toys and play time are the key to his heart, and they help him come out of his shell in the most beautiful way.

Deonne has been with us since summertime, arriving with four siblings who have all since found their homes. Now at just 7 months old, he still has his whole life ahead of him, and he deserves to spend it in a loving home, not a shelter.

We will be closed tomorrow, 11/27, for the holiday, but we’ll be open again this Friday and Saturday from 12 - 4:30 PM.
Come by, pick out a toy, and spend a little time with this gentle soul. You won’t regret meeting him. 🐾
