Kringleā€™s Christmas Miracle: Still Waiting for His Forever Home!

As we head into the final weeks of 2024, weā€™re still hoping for a Christmas miracle for Kringle. This resilient kitty has been through so much, and while heā€™s made incredible strides, heā€™s still waiting for the loving forever home he truly deserves.

A Look Back at Kringleā€™s Journey

It all began on Christmas Eve 2022, when Kringle was found outside in the freezing cold with severely infected testicles. He was in critical condition and leaking urine due to the infection, which had also caused his back legs to become severely scalded.

He was rushed to the emergency vet, where he underwent an emergency neuter. Both of his testicles and all surrounding necrotic tissue were removed to prevent further complications. Kringle spent the night at the emergency hospital, and by the next morning, he was stable and ready to start his recovery.

As 2023 unfolded, Kringle continued to heal, though the road wasnā€™t always easy. While he regained strength, he still struggled with urinary issues. By the time he used a litter box for the first time, we knew he had control over his bladderā€”a huge step in his recovery. However, Kringleā€™s tail remained paralyzed, which led to challenges with urinary leakage, as his tail would become soaked every time he used the bathroom.

After a vet visit, it was believed that Kringle was suffering from cystitis, and a urinary sample was taken for confirmation. Unfortunately, the paralyzed tail posed more serious problems, and it was determined that the only option to improve his quality of life would be amputation. The tail was amputated in early 2023, marking another chapter in Kringleā€™s journey to recovery.

Kringle Today: A Survivor, Still Waiting

As we approach Christmas 2024, Kringle is still waiting for his miracle. Weā€™re hoping that this will be the year he finds the loving family he deserves, the one that will give him a fresh start and endless love.

Could that family be you? If youā€™re interested in adopting Kringle or learning more about his story, please reach out. Letā€™s make 2025 the year Kringle finally gets his happily ever after.

Itā€™s with both a heavy heart and immense gratitude that we share the story of Jovie, a sweet soul who found her way to Yellow Brick Road Rescue in the most unexpected way.

One cold, bleak night, Nicole, one of our founders, was at the right place at the right time. As she stepped out of her car, a little cat appeared out of nowhere, desperately meowing and following her. It was freezing, and Nicole couldnā€™t bear to leave her behind. Panicked and unsure of what to do, we quickly came together to figure out a plan. Luckily, Jovie was safely scooped up and placed into the car, and as soon as she felt the warmth, she started purring, exhausted and relieved, and fell into a peaceful sleep.

Jovie, around 3 years old, is now safe and warm. We were able to find a wonderful foster for her, and sheā€™s slowly decompressing and revealing just how sweet and gentle she truly is. She adores people and craves attention. We truly believe she deserves a forever home, especially as the holidays approach.

If you are able, please consider donating to her care. Every bit helps us continue to provide for her and the many other animals in need. And if youā€™re looking to bring a loving companion into your home this season, Jovie would be an absolute joy to welcome into your life.

Sheā€™s found safety, but now we hope she can find the love and home she deserves. ā¤ļøšŸ˜»šŸŽ„

ā€¼ļøšŸ†˜Urgent Plea for Help: Lucas Needs a Second ChancešŸ†˜ā€¼ļø

Lucas only has until tomorrow!

Meet Lucas who is desperately in need of a new home. Lucas was adopted from a local shelter, and though he has so much love to give, he struggles with unpredictable behaviors that have made it difficult for him to stay in his current home. He is friendly, playful, and enjoys human companionship, but his attacks can come out of nowhere, leaving his family unsure of how to help him. These random attacks include swatting and biting randomly which are unprovoked and not due to overstimulation.

Unfortunately, due to his behavioral issues, Lucas faces a very real chance of being put down if he is returned to the shelter he came from if he cannot find a private adopter willing to work with him and offer him the care he needs. He is not a ā€œbadā€ catā€”heā€™s simply a young soul who needs patience, understanding, and a stable environment. We wouldnā€™t recommend him to go to a home with other animals or kids due to his behavior. He has not been tried on any medications yet.

We are reaching out in hopes of finding someone who will give this sweet boy a chance to flourish. If you have experience with cats and behavioral challenges, or if you know someone who might, please consider opening your heart and home to Lucas. He deserves a future where he feels safe, loved, and understood.

Please help us save Lucas. Time is running out

This is urgent- if you can help please message us or send us an email [email protected]

Foster or adopter needed for Miko! šŸ¤

We have an opportunity to save a sweet cat from the streets of Egypt, but we need your help to make it happen. Our rescue friend there has been working tirelessly to care for this special cat and asked us if she can bring him here. But we are unable to take him in without a foster home or adoptive home.

Miko is 1.5 years old and a pure Himalaya. He is extremely friendly with people and also good with cats as well as small dogs! He is also neutered and fully vetted.

Please reach out if you can help. Without a foster, we wonā€™t be able to help our rescue friend, and he will remain in those challenging conditions. If youā€™re interested in fostering, or adopting, please send us a direct message or email us.

**Donations Needed for Delilah the cat just taken in from the cold!**

Weā€™ve just brought in a sweet, starving kitty who was found wandering the cold outdoors. This precious girl is now safe, but we urgently need your help to ensure she gets the medical care, food, and warmth she deserves.

The cold weather can be incredibly harsh on stray animals, and this little one has endured it all. She just received a vet check-up and vaccinations. The vet also felt she was pregnant (thankfully she ended up not being be!) but now we have the unexpected X-ray cost. A copy of her invoice is in the photos.

This rescue is fully volunteer-run, and every dollar you donate goes directly to the animals in our care. Your generosity will make all the difference for this sweet kitty as she heals and finds her forever home.

Thank you for your support! šŸ’›

Update: foster found!

Urgent Foster Needed: Friendly Female Cat in Danger of Freezing**šŸ’”

We are urgently seeking a foster home for a sweet, friendly female cat who is currently living outdoors and is in immediate danger as the weather is expected to drop to freezing temperatures this weekend. This poor girl is starving, cold, and in desperate need of a warm, safe space to stay.

She is incredibly sweet and affectionate, but she cannot survive much longer outside in these harsh conditions. We have her medical care and supplies fully coveredā€”she just needs a temporary home until a forever home is found!

If you are able to open your heart and home to this gentle soul, please reach out as soon as possible. Time is critical, and we need to get her inside where she can be safe, warm, and well cared for. She is not vetted yet so will need to be kept separated from other pets at first.

Please message us if you can help or know someone who can. Thank you for considering giving this little one a chance at warmth and safety!

ā€¼ļøUPDATE on the two cats their owner wanted out
.
šŸ±***KITTEN FOOD NEEDED***šŸ±
The other day we posted about 2 cats whom their owner wanted out. Well, we ended up finding a foster for them together! It took a few days due to the lack of communication from the owner to get them into foster, but they got to their foster home yesterday thanks to great teamwork! Mamma must have known she was finally safe because she gave birth over night to 5 kittens! Her name is Pixel and the male is Milo. They are both extremely sweet and crave attention!

Momma will be eating the royal canin mama and babycat food and then the kittens will start once they are older so we will have 6 mouths to feed and this food is expensive.

Donations are also appreciated to go towards all of their vetting! Anything helps- we are thankful this family is safe in time for thanksgiving šŸ’›

Foster found for both together! We need transport from East Orange to Sayreville asap tomorrow morning!!

Looking for a foster/adopter for two cats located in East Orange. Owner does not want them anymore and does not take good care of them. The female (gray with more white) is also reportedly pregnant and she doesnā€™t want the kittens in her home. The other cat is a male. Both are around 1 year old. They donā€™t have any vetting and would need to be kept separate from other pets until that is done. They do not need to go together. If anyone can help either of these cats, message us or email us at yellowbrickroadnj@gmail.

Please share for adoptable Gemma šŸ’Ž

Gemma is around a 4 year young female. Gemma was rescued off the streets of Newark where she did not belong! She was pregnant and gave birth to premature kittens and unfortunately none of her babies made it. She is now spayed so she doesnā€™t have to go through the cycles of all the kittens she likely had outside, or the pain of losing them anymore! She was very sad when this all occurred. She is safe and warm with us and just needs a family of her own now! If you are looking for a single cat- sheā€™s your girl and sheā€™d be totally fine as a single as well but she also does get along with other cats. We are unsure about dogs but she would may be ok with a calm/mellow one. She will need a patient home due to everything she has gone through, but we know the perfect home is out there somewhere for her!
She is being fostered in south orange. If you are interested in this grey beauty please email us [email protected] or send us a message

Letā€™s get this girl into the home she never had and truly deserves! ā¤ļø

Update: adopted!

ā€¼ļøURGENT FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPTER NEEDED BY TOMORROW FOR A 9 MONTH OLD PUREBRED BRITISH SHORT HAIR! Or he will be thrown outside!!

The person who has the cat now got him from a friend a week ago because the friend no longer wanted him. The person who has him now only has had him for a week and his current cat is terrorizing him so he wants him out even though itā€™s only been a week. The cat is not vetted so he will need to go somewhere that is able to keep him seperated from other cat(s) until his vetting is completed. He is likely fine with other cats since he is fine with the one where he is currently, itā€™s the other cats since attacking him. We donā€™t know about dogs.

All medical and supplies are covered! If you can take this very friendly guy in please send us a message or email us asap!

ā€¼ļøFOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPTER NEEDED FOR 4 MONTH OLD KITTEN BEFORE SHES PLACED BACK OUTSIDEā€¼ļø

If anyone is interested in her, please send us a direct message or email us at [email protected]. Application is required for either fostering or adopting

ā€¼ļøURGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR OLLIEā€¼ļø
Imagine your family moving and leaving you behind outside and now youā€™re sleeping on top of trash cans hoping youā€™re owners will come back and let you inside? šŸ„¹ see photo of him circled sleeping on the trash cans šŸ’”

ā€œHey Nicole & Christa, I know this is a stretch, but figured Iā€™d ask.

Some people moved and left their cat behind. He sleeps each night on top of the šŸ—‘ļø trash can Iā€™m told. The lady has since gotten him fully vetted (paperwork shown)and since she couldnā€™t bring him inside, she put him back out where he continues so sleep on top of the trash. Possibly waiting for his owners to come back. Sadly they are long gone . ā€œ

Ollie is vetted and needs a place to crash thatā€™s nice and warm so he no longer needs to sleep on trash cans! In the video you can see how friendly and loving he is. He is currently in Newark. If you are able to foster please message us or send us an email [email protected]

šŸ†˜ URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR OLIVER!!! By this weekend, we will HATE to have to see him go back into a crate. šŸ†˜
One of our vet techs took on this beautiful boy as he was cared for at the vet clinic she works at and found him a foster home on her own but the foster he is in now says he reminds her too much of her cat that recently passed away. So instead of just continuing to foster him til a forever home is found she wants to bring him back to our vet tech by this weekend. She has no space and other cats and Oliver does not like other cats. If a foster home is not found by this weekend he will have to go back into a crate which we would hate to see!! This is what she has to say about Oliver
ā€œTo eveyone or anyone that would like to adopt or even foster this beautiful orange tabby boy.
He desperately needs a forever home or a foster home.
This is Oliver, he is a 1 yr old orange tabby male.
He is neutered, rabies vaccinated, distemper vaccinated, microchiped, tested negative for feline aids leukemia and his p**p has also been tested and treated.
He was found laying on the street suffering from a raccoon bite. He has since been treated, quarantined and completely vetted. He needs to go to a home with no other animals. He is loving and affectionate towards people as well as complete strangers. But he does not get along with other cats.
All he wants is to be petted and loved.
He is currently locked in a cage because there are other cats where he is. He is being sponsored by Yellow Brick Road Rescue. No Adoption fee is required, just a loving safe home. He will be supplied with wet food, dry food, litter box, litter, toys, bed and all his medical records. If you would like to meet Oliver please let me know.
If you would like to adopt or foster Oliver until we find him a forever home, please let me know. Thank you.ā€
If anyone has no other pets, or space to keep Oliver separate please reach out to us ASAP if youā€™d like to foster, foster to adopt, or adopt. He is currently in Fairfield NJ. Please message us or send us an email if you are interested in sweet Oliver.
