Charlie loves his best friends, Frida and Lola! They have helped him immensely, while he's been transitioning to his new foster home and learning house manners. Charlie was previously kept chained up and isolated, and his previous trainer sadly didn't have the knowledge or experience to introduce him to other dogs. Despite not yet knowing all the rules of canine communication, he is a quick learner, so Frida and Lola have been very patient and helpful!
Even though he is an older guy, he loves to share his toys, play games, and run around the backyard with them. He will patiently wait his turn for food rewards when we do group training sessions, and comes when called even when he's busy playing. Charlie loves to work (for food) and he loves to play too! He has a low energy level compared to most German Shepherds and is happy to get his exercise through short, leisurely sniff walks, mental games, and food puzzles. The rest of the day he will be content to relax and sleep on the floor, or cuddle with you!
Charlie the Brave is a total sweetheart who just wants to be loved and have a family to enjoy his senior years! He would do great in a home by himself or with another friendly dog.
