We are excited to announce that Blue Oak Veterinary is a certified provider of Graston Technique! Graston Technique (GT) is an evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). This form of treatment uses specially designed stainless steel instruments with unique treatment edges and angles to effectively and efficiently address soft tissue lesions and fascial restrictions. When combined with appropriate therapeutic exercise, GT leads to the restoration of pain-free movement and function. 🌴🔥☀️🥵ACUPUNCTURE TO TREAT ANHIDROSIS🥵☀️🔥🌴

It’s the HOT and HUMID time of year here in Florida! Sweating is critical to keeping your horse cool and allowing them to perform their best in this hot weather. Horses with ANHIDROSIS (inadequate or absence of sweating) is a very common problem here in Florida. At a minimum it can hinder your horses performance and at its worst can lead to serious overheating. There are a number of reported therapies out there (beer, One A/C, electrolytes, etc) but they rarely make dramatic improvements in sweat production.

ACUPUNTURE however has a high rate of success for treatment of anhidrosis. A combination of acupuncture, herbal and food therapy have success rates of 70-80%!

If your horse is having trouble with sweat prodution in this hot weather (be it not enough sweat or none at all) reach out to schedule an appointment!
