With the heat still in full swing, remember that our furry friends feel it too! Walking your dog in hot weather can lead to heatstroke and other injuries. Here's why: Concrete and asphalt retain heat, making it much hotter for your pet, and these surfaces can burn their paw pads. When it’s above 80-85 degrees, it’s best to walk your dog in the early morning or at dusk. If that’s not possible, keep walks short and stay on the grass. Always provide plenty of water and watch for signs of heatstroke, such as excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, and confusion. If you notice any of these, bring your pet to us right away.

Sweet, little Biscuit was not eating and uncomfortably licking at her backend. 😕

Our team found a skin infection brewing. At we were able to give her some immediate relief by administering an injection for pain. Our team cleaned the area, then sent her home with a pain medication and an antibiotic.

Here are some summer safety tips for walking dogs in the summer:
• Limit dog walks during the hottest hours of the day.
• Make sure you bring water for you and your dog and offer more water breaks!
• Avoid hot surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, wood, and sand. Walk on grass or use booties to protect their feet.
• Plan routes that have shaded areas where your dog can rest if needed.

*Be aware of symptoms like excessive panting, drooling, rapid heartbeat, fever, vomiting, or collapse. If you notice these, seek veterinary care immediately.*

My name is Ivy and I’m feeling a bit itchy today. I have a history of pesky allergies. After a team member administered my Cytopoint injection, I hope to soon be back to normal. I received a special shampoo to clean between my toes, and an antibiotic to help with infection.

This sweet fella is Bullseye 🥰

He presented for an upset tummy despite receiving medications. We did X-rays to confirm he didn’t have an obstruction, confirmed perfection. He did have a history of hookworms, so we sent home a dewormer, nausea medication, and anti-diarrheal. We administered subcutaneous fluids (under the skin) and an injection for nausea.

He’s expected to continue being sweet perfection. 💙

This beautiful girl is Kiara 💕

She presented for not acting like herself with an elevated temperature. We performed a full blood panel to determine she has an infection going on. We gave her subcutaneous fluids, an antiemetic injection, and sent home an oral antibiotic with an anti-inflammatory.

This sweet kitten was found by good samaritans the day before!

She appeared to be healthy but these wonderful people wanted to make sure before introducing her to their home! A doctor performed a thorough exam and found she is practically perfect in every way! We sent her home with a dewormer to help rid her of any intestinal parasites to follow up with a primary veterinarian! 😍

This adorable baby is Chloe! 🤩 She loves trying to kiss her friends.

She presented for vomiting. Since she is a younger baby, the owners elected a parvo test since she hasn’t gotten through all of her puppy shots yet. The parvo test was negative, so we gave an antacid injection and sent home an antiemetic to help her belly get right!

This sweet little p**f is Dusse! 😍

Another forever puppy of the week! 💙 He came in with a torn nail. We gave some light sedation to calm him down, our wonderful doctor was able to successfully remove the nail, and bandage his tiny foot up! He was sent home with an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory.

And of course, doctors orders, he needed some cuddles while he recovered. Feel better sweet baby! 💙💙
