This is another OLD video. Unfortunately, some of these cats are no longer with us.
It is heartbreaking but it is the sad reality of what Semi Feral cat colonies have to manage. Not everyone has money to build expensive Catio's and dedicated rooms.

WE are running an out of the pocket operation and rely on the charity of others!. WE can really manage to keep them fed and for our indoor crew (7 cats) cat litter.
Medical expenses when they come up are in addition too. We don't have a ton of money to do any of this and I have tried in vain to find homes for our cats and to get more support and even tried to do a 501C3 non profit (but need extra people on a board).

Well, I lowballed that..
the cost used to be around 5 bucks to reach a couple hundred people.. now it is up to over 100 dollars just for 7 days..
and will that ensure "engagement" ? probably not.

The Supreme Court has officially upheld the ban on TikTok.
I am now planning to divest from all META platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. I feel conflicted about this decision because I still have an X (formerly Twitter) account. I believe it’s important to have more speech and connection with others, not less. Losing public forums is unhealthy for society. We’re already incredibly divided and isolated from one another, and it’s crucial to preserve what little avenues for connection we have left.
That said, Facebook, which I’ve been on since around 2005, has become nearly useless in terms of engagement. I run several groups and pages, including one for my jewelry business, Underground Faery, and another for my Good Life Cat Sanctuary. Despite having over 1,000 followers on the cat sanctuary page and slightly fewer on the jewelry page, the engagement is dismal.
I also manage a Liberal prepping group with 1,200 members, as well as several other groups, but the engagement there is poor, too. I frequently get prompts to "boost" posts starting at $15 per post, but I refuse to pay for that.
Over the years, I’ve found it nearly impossible to maintain meaningful connections with anyone on social media. I understand people are busy, but it raises the question: what’s the point of social media and messaging apps if people don’t actually use them to communicate?
No one answers phone calls or responds to text messages anymore either. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like this isolation has been deliberate. It seems like the powers that be don’t want us communicating, organizing, talking, or comparing notes with one another. Everyone prefers to live in their own little bubble. But a fully free and conscious society can’t survive if we’re this isolated—it will be our downfall.
The next four years are going to be challenging. It will be far harder if we can’t connect with any sort of social group. Healthy communication is essential for mental health, for mutual assistance, and for basic human connection—and all of that has been systematically eroded.
I’ve even tried writing letters to friends and family, but that’s a slow process and doesn’t offer immediate connection and, there is a high liklihood that the US POSTAL SERVICE will become privatized and the cost of mailing anything will become too expensive..
For now, I will keep my YouTube account. I still use WhatsApp and Telegram for messaging, and I send emails, but no one seems to respond to those either. Texting has become just as futile.

We are still struggling along but as I said, a lot of these platforms are not giving much "free" engagement which is needed in order to promote a charitable cause. FB /META is charging around 15 bucks to boost posts and for a charity like mine, is pointless.

I don't feel I am getting much traffic on this group. I have over 1000 followers here but there is not much engagement.

I am over on TIKTOK and because of the TIKTOK ban I want to start finding alternatives to anything META related (facebook, instagram, threads etc)

I haven't done so, because honestly, it is hard and I am on multiple platforms because well, that is what you have to do to get followers and interests.. I don't want to rebuild...

Even if I took a break, it is hard to come back and manage groups because you lose the adminstrative functions.

I am NOT happy with Zuckerberg right now but here I am, still giving him energy. I still use marketplace and there are some useful tools but I MAJORLY DISLIKE having a social media monopoly...
and Mark Zuckerbergs recent comments are scary bad and I know that he is majorly behind TIKTOK's ban..

I have been shadowbanned on Facebook and I don't honestly feel it is giving me engagement (unless I PAY stupid fees to promote a post for over 20 dollars!!).

If anyone is seeing this, .... what other platforms are you all on?

Yesterday we posted information about our operation on Helping Feral Cats. We hoped to inspire others to do what we do or at least consider making shelters for their own use. The response was, to grossly understate it, overwhelming. We have received responses from people all over the country and as far away as Scotland and Greece. Mark and Susan Andrew from Maryland take care of a colony of barn cats and have made their own shelters. These are some lucky kitties with a nice inside set up. Good work Mark and Susan!

One cat today can equal dozens of unwanted cats by next year. Now is the time to get your cats fixed to avoid unwanted litters.

Brown County Humane Society is offering FREE spay/neuter for the first 100 Brown County cats that participate in the outdoor cat package. This package includes spay/neuter, a 3-year rabies vaccination, one flea and tick prevention application, one long-lasting pain control shot and ear tipping.

Please note – to participate in the free offer, cats must receive all aspects of the outdoor cat package; the package cannot be altered. Open to cats who are 3 pounds and 3 months or older and must be Brown County residents.
