With a heavy heart and tears in my eyes as I write this, we are looking to rehome our Aussie, our boy Blue.
Blue is an almost 4 year old boy, not fixed*. He has been in our family since he was 8 weeks old. Due to COVID and busy schedules we sadly did not socialize him as well as we could have as a puppy and are now dealing with the consequences.
He would be best in a home where he can roam free and get lots of cuddles as he is a lap dog once he warms up. Someone with plenty Aussie experience and patience is required as he is very anxious and will take time to warm up. NO young kids. We have 3 kids, 10, 6, and almost 6 months and they are the reason we have to rehome him. He is great with older kids but too anxious around smaller kids. He has now nipped our baby and that was the last straw for us as we can’t fathom keeping him locked all day while our baby explores our house or restrict our baby from exploring. It isn’t fair to either of them.
We are In Jacksonville, FL and willing to meet for someone who is truly Interested and reads all of the facts beforehand. We are not sugarcoating our boys behavior, he will possibly act aggressive when he first meets someone new. When you take the time with him he will be your best friend. If this were not true we would not have kept him as long as we have or be so heartbroken. Please private message me only if you are truly interested as we’ve already met someone who knew all the facts and then decided to never reach back out.
ETA: he has been scheduled to be neutered later this month and we are consulting with behavioral trainers regarding what’s going on. We still want to have a back up option of rehoming in case all else fails and we feel we can’t keep him or the children safe from each other despite our best efforts. I also appreciate those who provided advice without unnecessary negative feedback at a very stressful time of our lives.
