I wish I could share more details of my son's progress. I'm not going to share where he is because he was the victim of an assault. We know by who, it's just a matter of them finding and arresting him. Some day, hopefully soon, I'll be able to tell the whole story.
Now the good stuff I can share! He's gained back about 15 lbs. Only another 50 or so to go. He's getting stronger, back to acting like the stubborn, independent, "I'll do it my way" child I raised. He can't walk yet but has managed to climb out of his bed twice, ending up on the floor. Thankfully, we lower his bed to about 6 inches off the floor.
The staff is wonderful! Amazing, caring, hardworking people but they can't have their eyes on everyone all the time and they can't be in 2 rooms at once. His father and I take turns and manage to cover his care the majority of the time. I can't have him waiting to get cleaned and fed. He doesn't talk a lot but when he does, most of it is easy to understand. He still has his great sense of humor and keeps everyone laughing. He eats everything in sight and has been pretty spoiled, getting whatever he wants. I laughed because PT is bribing him with Reese's peanut butter cups to do stuff.... they're treat training my kid. LOL.
We've only been here a few days, the changes from having real therapies has been huge.
Thank you all for the patience. I really am coming back at some point.
