Mary was hardworking, creative, and deeply committed to the causes she held dear. Her love for cats, especially her two feline companions, Tigger and Sunny, was evident to anyone who knew her. Mary will be fondly remembered for all her cat treasures and collectibles.

One of the many things that makes Concern for Animals unique is the fact that we work with a network of 30+ veterinary and grooming partners! These are local veterinarians and groomers (and their staff!) who believe in our mission of keeping pets and their people together.

Blaze, Grace Kelli (aka Gracie), and Patchy are officially available for adoption! These littermates are 13 weeks old, very curious, chart, and big fans of playing and snoozing in equal measure. CFA staff and volunteers have loved getting to know these three bundles of energy. They were spayed and neutered earlier this week and everyone is recovering well.

Blaze is playful, a little rambunctious, and very sweet. When he's not playing or practicing yoga, he likes to find a cozy spot to nap.

Gracie is small but mighty! This little girl may not play as hard as her brothers, but she does love to chase mouse toys and feathers. She's a very good climber and is always available for an afternoon chat, between naps of course.

Patchy does not do anything by halves. He plays hard and naps even harder. He is an enthusiastic cuddler who has never met a treat he did not like.

All CFA-adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, and treated for parasites. Getting a wellness exam early allows you to start a medical history for your pet, lets you get important information about health risks based on species/breed, and can help you see if anything is wrong out of the gate.

-๐†๐ž๐ญ ๐“๐ก๐ž๐ฆ ๐•๐š๐œ๐œ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ž๐: Vaccines can be life-saving for pets, especially young puppies at risk of Parvo and indoor/outdoor cats at risk of contracting FIV. Some vaccines are even mandatory in Washington State, like the Rabies vaccine. Getting these vaccines early protects your pet from unnecessary risk and suffering.

-๐†๐ž๐ญ ๐“๐ก๐ž๐ฆ ๐Œ๐ข๐œ๐ซ๐จ๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ž๐: Microchips are important to your petโ€™s safety. When a pet is lost or found a microchip can be the deciding factor in whether or not they are able to be reunited with their owner. Make sure to update your petโ€™s microchip annually with any name, phone number, or address changes.

-๐†๐ž๐ญ ๐“๐ก๐ž๐ฆ ๐’๐ฉ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐/๐๐ž๐ฎ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐: Spay and neuter procedures are one of the greatest gifts we can give our pets. Pregnancy for pets carries complication risk, as well as placing an emotional burden on our pets. Getting your pet spayed/neutered early on can prevent a variety of future health problems and protect them from unplanned litters.

This program is intended to assist financially struggling owners of small animals (domestic species of small mammals, reptiles, birds, and amphibians) pay for non-routine and emergency medical costs for their pets. Vouchers can cover between $150 - $400, depending on the situation, of applicable vet care for owners who qualify.

Spanks has been extra silly this week, providing the office with non-stop giggles and entertainment. He is still looking for his forever home and will be a wonderful addition to the right family. Spanky has cerebellar hypoplasia or, as many of us have come to know it, Wobbly Cat Syndrome. This means that Spanky is uncoordinated and well... pretty darn wobbly! While there is no cure or treatment for cerebellar hypoplasia, Spanky is one awesome guy and doing just fine. He is playful, curious, and makes for excellent company. Special considerations for his care include wider food and water bowls and a litter box that he can easily get in and out of. If you are curious to learn more, VCA Animal Hospitals' explains: "Cerebellar hypoplasia is a developmental condition in which the cerebellum of the brain fails to develop properly. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance, and coordination. The condition is not painful or contagious." It's #wobblycat Wednesday! Spanky has the fastest paws in all the land. Mr. Caterpillar didn't stand a chance! Spanky has cerebellar hypoplasia or, as many of us have come to know it, Wobbly Cat Syndrome. This means that Spanky is uncoordinated and well... pretty darn wobbly! While there is no cure or treatment for cerebellar hypoplasia, Spanky is one cool dude and doing just fine.
