Ready for the weekend—and the official start of our summer season! We've been hard at work preparing for this very moment. Here's what you can expect to see:
📍 We’re in the final stages of installing 47 touchscreen kiosks throughout the Zoo to help offset the shortfall in our labor force. No employees were displaced. In fact, we’re still hiring in all areas! Apple online: www.omahazoo.com/workhere
🎫 Many of the kiosks are already available for purchasing admission tickets, rides tickets and wristbands, as well as placing food orders at some of our concession areas.
💳 Kiosks accept credit cards only. They do also accept Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium gift cards. Cash sales remain on a limited basis.
⬇️ When using the kiosks, discounts can be applied to eligible ticket and food purchases for Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium members and employees by scanning your member card or entering your member number and last name.
🌳 The Howard and Rhonda Hawks Plaza, located in front of the Desert Dome, is now open for families to gather and stay cool. It features an all-new look with more seating, more shade and landscaping, and opening soon, the renovated and renamed Plaza Café. The façade of the Lozier Giant Screen Theater was also given a facelift.
💦 Alaskan Adventure will open, daily weather-permitting, with a new entrance, even more space to accommodate strollers and more seating with shaded structures, so families can be much closer to their children at play.
☀️ A Sundries Station, the Dockside Shop, has been added with kiosks to purchase rides tickets. Gift merchandise and amenities, such as beach towels, sunscreen, sunglasses and misting fans.
🎠 Sue’s Carousel, which was installed more than 20 years ago, will reopen in a new location, still near Alaskan Adventure, after having been refurbished. It will dawn a new entrance and covered structure, as well as improved accessibility for wheelchairs. Families can also see around the entire circumference as their children ride.
