This year, we’re thankful for the time we got to spend with Samy & Ruby’s puppies and all the wonderful families who welcomed them into their homes and now call them family. Happy thanksgiving to Douxie, Luna, King and Benny!

Update on baby Douxie (Jellybean):

She is doing great in her new home! She loves playing frisbee with her big sister Midna, the Dalmatian, and taking naps with her senior chiweenie brother, Gigi. She is the spitting image of her mama and is still the smallest of all her brothers and sisters (she definitely makes up for it with her big personality though!). We’re happy to report that she is adjusting well to her new life and is incredibly loved by her tiny humans and her new mom and dad.

Meatball began his new life yesterday and has graduated from being our little prince to a “King”. He was our first born and the last to leave and although we miss him like crazy, we are so happy for him and his new furever family.

At 10 weeks, he left us at 23 lbs… Can’t wait to see how big this guy gets!

This is something everyone should see.

When you get your 8/10 week old puppies, please keep this image in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in.

But when you're letting puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint.

You only get the chance to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one.

Once grown you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once.

9 weeks old and he’s already figured out that if he paws at the door someone will let him out so he can go potty. 👏🏻 He’s also been sleeping 6+ hours straight through the night. Plus, just look at that face!

Today is the day that “Mr. Pickles” starts his next chapter as Benjamin, where he will rule the roost on a farm full of new friends. We will miss him dearly but couldn’t be more elated for what this new beginning means for him, between growing up in a house full of boys👦👦👦 and room to roam with chickens 🐓 , goats 🐐 and llamas🦙 , we have no doubt he found his happily ever after. ☺️

Lucky little Olive, now lovingly called Luna 🌙🐾, adopted her forever family today. These goodbyes are bittersweet but seeing the hellos and the joy when they meet their perfect fit makes it all worth it. She is already adored by her parents and we couldn’t be more happy for her as she starts on her journey living happily ever after.

Meatball is our last available CKC Swiss Bernese Mountain Dog. He is going to be a 100 lb teddy bear 🧸 and to him, cuddling isn’t just a verb, it’s a lifestyle. If you love long naps and have a couch for him to crash on, then you might just be his soulmate. His happy and laid back temperament makes him an ideal companion for any household.
