The laser light toy may initially appear to be a great way to give your cat some exercise. The problem though, is that it doesn't provide the tactile satisfaction of having "caught" anything. Cats have carpal whiskers on their paws that tell them when they have captured the prey and whether there's any movement or not. With the laser toy, your cat never gets that message. Playtime isn't just about getting your cat to move, it's also about providing satisfaction and building confidence. Don't frustrate your cat. Use an actual interactive toy so your cat can enjoy being a successful hunter.

If your cat is obsessed with the laser toy, start the game with the laser and then direct the light onto an actual interactive toy. This way, you can gradually wean your cat off the frustrating light.

Friends needing help rehoming these two handsome boys as soon as possible. Please share!

Brothers (of different fathers??)

These two guys have been with us since 8 weeks (now 10 years) but I think each of them would prefer to be “only” children. They seem to get jealous when I have one on each hip, they would rather be the only one there. They used to snuggle up with each other a lot but it seems more rare these days.

They are neutered males, front declawed and up to date on all shots, licensed with NHS. I don’t think they would necessarily be good with kids, don’t really know about other pets—they’ve only known each other.

The only issue might be Markiss having a weight problem, but I just have Franzer’s food up because he can jump and eats normally. That way I can regulate what Markiss eats. Markiss also has some arthritis so I give him joint treats.

My husband just passed and I am going to have to make a long trip to Florida as my son has cancer. I don’t know how long I might have to stay. I also will be having surgery myself, I just need to find them a new home. They have been through a lot as my husband was on home hospice for nearly a month so they were living in a stressful situation with nurses and visitors frequenting our apartment.

Markiss

Markiss is a character, his favorite pose is on his back. He is laid back and loves to eat so it has to be regulated. He is a beauty with thick, soft, gray fur and the most beautiful green eyes. He is a great lap or hip cat and likes to sleep at your feet in bed. He is amazing at listening—he looks right at you when you talk to him, especially when at your hip and you can just tell him all about your day and you are sure he understands. He knows the word “eat” and will get excited when you say it.
Franzer is a typical Siamese, he likes to see and be in what you’re doing. He is very devoted to his person/people, but he is a bit afraid of other people, he will run and hide when someone is at the door. He loves to run and retrieve—especially on stairs. He went through some depression when we downsized from our 3000 sq ft townhome to an apartment so he’s put on some weight. He is very affectionate and lets you know when he wants to snuggle. But you can’t pick him up—he doesn’t like his legs confined.

These two bonded adorable babies were trapped by a local rescue, neutered, given revolution and up to date with shots. They are extremely playful, but also like to cuddle. We’re trying to find a fabulous fun home for them to be together. Kittens are always better in pairs. Let me know if you’re interested.
