Unfortunately, the muddy season is not over yet! The good news is that the only mess involves the horses. Our driveway is now open thanks to Blake! thank you to all of our clients for your patience during the Backus Ranch mudslide of 2025.

Guess what! Taft, our friendly Airedale terrier, is a weekly superstar around here! Today, while thrift shopping in town, our youngest stumbled upon the most incredible find—a beanie baby version of Taft! How cool is that? This dashing gent may battle epilepsy and needs his meds every day, but that doesn’t hold him back! Tonight, I captured an adorable snapshot of him and our other buddy, Larry, patiently waiting for their tasty pill pockets . The best part? Taft was so generous that he even shared an empty pill pocket with Larry! What a duo!

Sisters Trinidad & Juniper are frequent flyers here at The Ranch. Fun fact: their mom & dad graciously house sit for us when we go on vacation. So now you know who dogs sits for your dog sitter 🤣🤭

Our adorable senior mini horse, Gizmo, has such a cozy coat that it keeps the snow away! He’s one of our three beloved personal horses and is the sweetest little guy you could ever meet. Every year, he loves heading to our local and making friends with all the kids!

Our regular guest, "Dude," enjoyed a nice, relaxing afternoon on the couch with Blake. Dude is a cross between a Chesapeake Bay retriever and a terrier. He resembles a Chesapeake Bay retriever but has legs that are about six inches tall. his legs give him a very unique look 👀

“Finn-a-nin the synonym” as we like to call him had his fist day of daycare yesterday. Finn has stayed here for boarding and now daycare! We adore this smart pup and he enjoys playing and learning how to socialize with our crew.

Meet Bonnie, one of our fabulous four-legged family members! We couldn’t resist adopting her after fostering her, and she fits right in with our crew. Bonnie is a delightful mix of energy and charm—she’s a squirrel-chasing, snow-loving dynamo! When it’s playtime with her canine pals, watch out! Her signature move involves hanging off their scruff while making hilarious coyote noises, sending all the dogs into a wild frenzy of zoomies! Bonnie is a superstar when it comes to socializing dogs here at the ranch, and she’s also a master snuggler. With her around, there’s never a dull moment!

“Life is a Journey”

In October 2022, an exhilarating new chapter began when I jumped into the world of volunteering at a local dog rescue. My very first mission? To rescue a dog found wandering the streets, scheduled for euthanasia in just three hours. It was a race against time! With no one else available to step in, I eagerly volunteered. Little did I know, that single choice would ignite a profound change in my life. (said dog in picture number two, that’s Remus our boy we ended up adopting him)

Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s been two years already! I’ve launched my own business, and it’s like a dream come true! Every day is an adventure that fills my theoretical cup to the brim. I am beyond grateful for my amazing clients, my fantastic team, and, of course, the wonderful pups that brighten our days! Excitement is in the air, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!
