Her Royal Majesty Soca, requests that your furry friends be kept safe tonight while ghosts and goblins visit. Also, secure your treasure tonight in a safe place, as chocolate, sugar, and other sweets are bad for her loyal subjects.

Welpen has his German outfit on today. The Kratt's may have been the Festmaster and Frau of Oktoberfest USA, but German heritage runs in his blood. Prost and give him lots of treats today and every day.

It's one of the sweetest days of the year for humans - 🍫. Maybe not so much for your pet, though (especially your dog).

Chocolate toxicity is one of the most commonly treated toxicities in dogs, particularly during the holiday seasons. This chart spells out which types of chocolate are the most toxic.

With Veterinary Technician Week coming to a close, we wanted to update you on the week's activities. The team saw 150 exams and "tech" appointments, 15 surgical procedures, 4 complete ultrasound work-ups, TNTC phone and text interactions, and a week of on-call. Sprinkle in Pasta lunch, fruit, candy, bagels, and a taco bar to celebrate the full week. Oh, we forgot a photo shoot was added for images for our new soon-to-be rolled-out website. Hopefully before 1/1/2025

To say we appreciate our whole team and the integral part our Credentialed Technicians play would be an undersell.

In the near future, we will explain the different parts of our veterinary medical team, including the unique parts that veterinary assistants and credentialed technicians play in animal health and wellbeing.

This is Jessica. She is another Certified Veterinary Technician who works at Central Animal Hospital. She started with us right out of school after graduating from MATC. Her passion is animals and their bond with their owners. After spending the better part of a decade with us, she left for a few months to try a different career. Her heart brought her back with the challenging task of being our Practice Manager. She is in charge of hiring and scheduling staff, ordering supplies, herding the doctors, day-to-day hospital operations, and so much more. She still takes time to follow her passion and helps with patients every week.

Scrub caps off to Jess and the entire team that keeps Central Animal Hospital focused on its mission and goals.

Linda is a Certified Veterinary Technician who works at Central Animal Hospital. She also holds a second degree in Lab Animal Technology, which may explain why she worked for the "Mouse" in Orlando. With the communication and people skills she learned while there, she is the person who on-boards many of our new assistants. It is not all about furry, fluffy, and sometimes scally patients; personal interactions and communications are also very much part of our everyday veterinary life.

Do you know it is National Veterinary Technicians Week? Meet Kristina. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician at Central Animal Hospital. Eight and a half years ago, she did an externship with us when she was going to NDSU to get her bachelor's in Veterinary Technology. We offered her a position, and she returned after graduation. Technicians can do anesthesiology, clinical pathology, client education, digital imaging, dental prophy, and many more things. If you see her, wish her a happy technician's week.
