K9 Office Konner has so much swag with his new vest. Hope he doesn't need to use it, but we want him protected while he keeps us safe.

Today, Dr. Kratt and the Central Animal Hospital staff met with Officer Zumach and K9 Konner as they presented K9 Konner with body armor. This vest will help keep Konner safe while he is out working on patrol. What wonderful donation and thank you. as always, Central Animal Hospital for your continued support of our K9 program.

Central Animal Hospital partnered with Purina to donate over $1000 of pet food to the Jeep Food Ride, which partners with Oktoberfest - La Crosse, WI.

This event will be followed by a lighted jeep drive through Rotary Lights, La Crosse, tomorrow night, completing this year's food drive. Come on down to Riverside to see 30 jeeps lit up to add some sparkle to the event.

A shout-out to Eric for championing and running this for decades.

🦃 Happy Thanksgiving from Central Animal Hospital! 🦃

We want to wish everyone a joyful and safe Thanksgiving. Please note that we will be closed on Thursday, but we will return to our regular hours on Friday. As always, emergency services are available for our regular patients.

As we celebrate, let's keep our furry friends safe and off the "Naughty" list. Here are some important reminders:

🚫 Keep People Food Away from Pets 🚫

Chocolate: Toxic to dogs and cats. All chocolate should be off-limits.

Sweets and Baked Goods: May contain xylitol, which is harmful to pets.

Table Scraps: Including gravy, sauces, dressing, meat or poultry fat, onions, raisins, and grapes. These can be toxic or harmful.

The list of troublesome foods is long, even though they look yummy. If you have any questions, please call us. Remember, prevention is the best medicine.

Stay safe and enjoy the holiday! 🐶🐱

It is official; we have been reaccredited again. As best as we can recall, we first went through the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) standards accreditation in the fall of 2001. This was our eighth successful accreditation. To learn more about what it means, go to AAHA.org.

Jessica and Dr Kratt met yesterday to discuss everything we are working on and have in the pipeline. Jessica is the Practice Manager at Central Animal Hospital. At the end of last year and the start of this year, we teamed up with Peak Veterinary Consulting to evaluate what we do and why we do it. It resulted in Jess doing numerous protocol overhauls, new communication platforms, new safer DEA protocols and controls, instituting ScribeNote, overhauling our OSHA protocols and training, AAHA recertification, and a new website ready to go live. Whew, there is more coming, but we won't be there. It is Veterinary Manager Appreciation Week, but we don't wait once a year to appreciate Jess.

Thanks, Jess

I want to take a moment to thank Linda, one of our CVTs. This does not involve specific patient care but, more importantly, all patient care, staff training, and protocols. Over the last year, she performed a self-evaluation of American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) standards for Central Animal Hospital. She led the whole team through the process, culminating yesterday with our on-site evaluation. We will have our results revealed next week after our Radiology unit gets its regular inspection from the State of Wisconsin, but we are confident.

It takes a whole team to be successful, and each individual plays a role.
