A glimpse of this golden grass swaying in the winter breeze.

This gorgeous grass can grow up to 15' tall (after about the 3rd year) and can reach up to 4' across. Giant Miscanthus is a sterile plant therefore it does not produce seed. It can ONLY be propagated by planting rhizomes.

As winter approaches the farmette....these beautiful grasses stand tall and make a beautiful backdrop to the snow.
Most of our grasses are left uncut in the fall so we can appreciate their beauty for extended periods. New growth will occur even if left uncut.
In the spring, before new sprout emerge, they can be cut back to within inches of the ground.
The choice always remains yours...you can cut them back in the fall or spring. A w**d eater with a metal blade makes fast work of cutting them.
