❤️🐴
I have a lot to say about yesterday. But for now, I’m just leaving this here. We tried to help small raw cow milk farmers be able to legally advertise their milk by including all raw milk in our bill and our amendment.
It was killed as a result.
The reason given?
Because someone died years ago from drinking raw COW milk in Oklahoma. (Apparently they forgot the 50 kids in Saint Anthony Hospital that got sick from drinking PASTEURIZED contaminated cow milk from one of Ok’s favorite big dairies, ahem, Hiland...but, I digress.)
The irony is, that person died from drinking raw COW milk from a big dairy facility that has their USDA grade A barn, and has their permits, and is still in business, and can still advertise.
That same dairy had more problems with contaminated raw cow milk last summer. And they got shut down for months as a result. And they ran a GoFundMe and raised over $30k for their farm because they were shut down because of a legitimate contamination issue.
That same cow dairy had more problems this spring, the week before our bill that would have allowed small, non-USDA permitted farmers to advertise their raw milk. We were told that their issue would make our raw milk amendment more difficult.
That cow dairy will not be affected by this bill changing the law to “HOOVED mammals” to include our raw donkey milk. That cow dairy can still advertise their raw milk. That cow dairy has their USDA grade A barn and alllllll their permits.
We, the Oklahoma Donkey Dairy, and all the small cow farmers that have never had issues with anyone getting sick from their milk BECAUSE they are small and their milk cow is healthy and their product is clean, and do not have $150,000 barns to milk in, are the ones being punished.
(Donkey milk is naturally much more anticibacterial and anti fungal than any other milk.)
Somehow now we have to start figuring out how to build a USDA grade a barn that will cost tens of thousands of dollars so we can keep legally advertising that we have RAW DONKEY MILK FOR SALE in November when this law goes into affect to regulate our farm and our freedom of speech, punishing us unjustly, when no one has EVER gotten sick from our raw donkey milk, in 8 years of us doing our business without interference from the government.
(Did I mention we have raw donkey milk for sale?)
If you know anyone with a radio show, TV, Podcast, newspaper, blog, or big mouth, let them know, I’ll be telling everybody....
WE HAVE RAW DONKEY MILK FOR SALE.
Because until this bill goes through in November?
We, the Oklahoma Donkey Dairy, aren’t regulated by the state.
We still have freedom of speech.
(And one of the little know side effects of drinking donkey milk is it makes you a smart 🐴, gives you a loud bray, and a stubborn streak. 😉)
After 8 years of raw donkey milk drinking, my bray is loud and my streak is strong, and I’m a little bit of a smart...donkey.
We’re not finished.
More importantly, God isn’t finished with us.
Not by a long shot.
Care for a glass of raw donkey milk?
Maybe if more Americans drank donkey milk, we’d start speaking up for our rights and quit acting like a bunch of cows heading for slaughter.
I have more to say. But right now I have to catch up on all the work we missed while up at the Capitol fighting for farmers that didn’t show up and fight for themselves.
Rant over.
Thank you Senator Shane Jett and Ana Jett for your friendship and constant encouragement and prayers, and thanks to the 4 House Reps (in comments) that had the sense to vote no on this bill.
